Graphics are fine for the year it came out, but what the actual f..k is this garbage for gameplay and story.
I started playing this game on my PC thinking it was a light story since the game was only 5$ just for me to look up a walk through because i got lost early in my play through. To my surprise every walk through i saw on YouTube had this game clocking into 24 hours or more. Which after i googled the average run time for this game, it clocked in at about 20 to 24 hours to beat the main game not counting extra missions. So for 5 bucks this game is a major go. I did finish the whole game through game hub since i was going out of town for a week, anyways here's my review. It's a Action RPG with a anime like theme. Combat is good could use some more polish but it's does the job, i love the Anime like attacks both are protagonist and antagonist do. With Fire balls straight out of Naruto and Over the top ground slams, hell in the first boss battle we do Dragon Ball Inspired beam clash. So yeah this game definitely wears it's inspiration on it's sleeve. I will say i wish the game conveyed where you needed to go to progress better as i said i need to look up walk through early in my play through because i couldn't for the life of my find who i needed to talk to progress farther into the game even with the GPS system the game provides it's still hard to find what you need to do sometimes. The music is good with calming themes for the towns and thrilling battle tracks so it gets it right there as well. Graphics while going for a hand drawn look and i love the character designs in this game, i can't help but say this does look kinda like a flash game and that's fine because graphics are not everything and game play trumps all and it most definitely succeeds in that department. The story is written like a typical Shonen jump battle anime with are to protagonist King Enzo and Queen Erine go off to save there people from the big bad kinda cheesy but it has it's charm i won't spoil it for you. I will say it's a shame you only get to control Enzo and not Erine the whole time since she so heavily featured in the marketing the girl is basically a glorified item in battle. Thank god she well written though that's one thing that had me worried was that Erine would fall under the useless female teammate role you find in so many other anime cough cough Sakura but no she's has her own character arcs and while yes i stand by my stance that she is a glorified item in battle, she is one of if not THE most powerful thing in your arsenal. The game only has 1 ending so not much replay ability there but it's still and great ending though. Overall Score 6.5/10. Final Grade 65/100. [Game Play = 15/20. Graphics = 12/20. Story = 18/20 Music. 15/20. Replayability = 5/20.]
Not bad. Not Good. Mediocre.
It's worse than it looks. It feels like a game design student's prototype.
I desperately want this game to become a series. Kiro'o Games don't give up on this amazing concept!
I really wanted to like this game. The style is beautiful, the world is complex, but the gameplay is just awful and the storytelling style is pretty rough. The platformer and fighting aspects of the game are kept separate, combat felt like I was just mashing the same few buttons until there were no more enemies, and the environment traversal (which was the platforming element) suffered from poor perspective, guiderails, and fairly boring obstacles. There were a lot of action packed cutscenes that tantalized me with promises of exciting combat, but that never materialized into anything more than a slog through cannon-fodder. The storytelling is very linear, which I’m not personally a fan of but I wouldn’t call a problem in itself but the game has an excess of extraneous information that bogs down the actual story. To make matters worse this information is usually presented as a chart or block of text separate from the normal game, which breaks the flow of the story. For example, in one area it shows an organizational chart of a gang’s leadership. Since the linear nature of the game meant I had no control over if, when, or how these gang leaders were confronted, there was really no reason to show me the org chart. I’m also not a fan of the level up mechanic and gear improvements. Adding 1-3% to a stat feels kind of like a pointless waste of time to me. Overall, it looks pretty, but felt like a boring slog.
I think that steam needs a neutral option for this game. Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan is an okay game. It isn't bad, but it isnt great. Some issues is that A. the game looks like ♥♥♥♥. Not like graphically but the fact that every image looks incredibly compressed. Now the gameplay is interesting, it isn't half-bad! I believe this game is a decent game, some major flaws, but what gives? It's a decent game!
The mouse cursor is trapped in an invisible box that is smaller than the screen. Because of this the game is unplayable for me. I do not recommend buying this game until the developers become better coders and learn to remove such detrimental design flaws... )-:
Love it. Need more like these.
