Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan has really likeable characters and interesting world building. The only problems I have with this game are technically issues: getting stuck on some geometry, framerate randomly getting low is some areas, and the poor English translations. I enjoyed my time with the game and if you can overlook the technical issues you will too.

Want a shonen anime inspired game where people use head mounted bird jetpacks? Then check out this Cheapness affordable gaming review of Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan [Episode 89] https://youtu.be/0ICCI4yPZus Text Review: -The game has great African inspired architecture and style with a nice asymmetrical feel and somehow some of their weirder designs don't feel out of place (Remember bird jetpacks) but visually there are some issues such as edgy sprites when viewed from afar, limited animations (Especially during cutscenes) and while the powers look good, sometimes they can look like overlays -The music is good and unique with African instrumentation (It's rare that anything sounds too familiar but the something silly is happening track for levity is perhaps too silly and the main combat track has a repetitive quality in that sections play twice before moving on to the next and the whole thing loops noticeably at the end if the battle lasts that long but I didn't mind it too much as the game isn't that long) -Good, methodical combat (Arguably repetitive but once again the short length meant it doesn't outstay its welcome and the Steam page claims there's more you can tease from the combat system if you're better than I am) but you can easily get stunned or fall victim to a damage cascade but that's the price you pay for a loose feel that's actually a positive rather than negative. -You also don't have to grind and can unlock and level up a whole lot of legacies that offer 3 different mostly elemental attacks each which is a nice spice (If they are reskins to an extent) -The non-combat elements (Puzzles, platforming etc.) are decent but not amazing... they offer a change of pace and this game has one of the harder moral decisions in a video game I've had to deal with in a while (Bohiri's family) -Great world-building and mature story that doesn't just bend to sentimentality (The brisk pace, stilted feel and some heavy-handed writing may detract from the quality though but that is harsh) -The English localization also has its issues which can detract as well -Also, the game does have a general feeling of unrefinement Practical Concerns: -Great value (R1.77/ $0.17/ £0.13 per hour for me) -Kind of big (13.08 Gb) -Surprisingly hard to run on the warhorse
Nubians more like NOOBians lmao this game sucks
Wanted to like this, but it is just so very tedious and slow. Let me also clarify there, not in the story department, which itself sorta zips along a rather standard JRPG trope route. The setting is very nice, art is unique. The game has a lot of things going for it that makes it stand out. Then you get INTO it and just...ugh. Its almost like fighting itself over how it should be and how its presented. The combat can be very ...interesting, but will be one of the things that makes it so sluggish. Every fight, every time is a drawn out deal. Even after a few hours into the story and your "power up" you dont FEEL powered up. Especially as long as a boss fight can take. Combine with some QoL features that will make you sigh, like some awkward platforming bits in maps to get around in zones to get around to...zones. Its just...slow. That is in the end, as i said at the top, the sad part in the end. You want to like it. From the start you get hooked and then once its in you almost immediately go "Oh, wait...ugh maybe this improves" The art style however is solid, but you can't rest a game entirely on that alone.
🎮 Reseña de Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan

It's undeniably rough, but if you stick with it this is an impressively ambitious game with a unique, creative combat system that's fun to play. I'm looking forward to more from this studio.
What a very strange game. Story = BAD Graphics = Strange Music = Annoying Combat = WEIRD
It is a JRPG-style beat'em up game with Wakada forever aesthetic ( I know, this one is at least 10 years older than the reference). The hand-painted characters look nice, but not long after the start, they already feel outdated, and the animation style feels like the early 2000s. The gameplay is repetitive and mostly action-oriented button-smashing. It gets old pretty fast.
this game is so stupid.... the worst 👎👎👎👎👎💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩
