Pretty fun time killing game. It reminds me of an old flash game called Boxhead.

All I can say is What a game!!! This is what all current AAA games should aspire to be. Its both rich in graphics and story; truly one of gods miracles. Whoever made this game has blessed steam and steam users with an experience that I have never seen the likes of and should be cherished by those who come across it. In this magic game you play as the mysterious unnamed protagonist as you fight hordes of things that are weird shapes and that's all anyone should want for a game. Tell your friends, family, teacher, heck even email your local MP and urge them to play this game as it touches on very important political aspects that fit with the modern world as it is today. This game is truly a masterpiece and I URGE you to play it,

[h1]About[/h1] Attack of the alien thingies from lava! is a game similar to Yet Another Zombie Defense and Red Nation. You control a character and shoot aliens that are trying to kill you. You can buy guns, weapon upgrades and ammo. It is as simple as that. [h1]Achievements[/h1] I got all the achievements in about 6 hours. Reaching wave 50 and winning the game should unlock most of them. After winning, you can restart and get the achievements you missed (if any). Your kill stats do not reset, so don't worry. [h1]Runs[/h1] It took me 3 runs to beat the game. [olist] [*]First run: Died at wave 48. Took me 3 hours to reach it. [*]Second run: Started at wave 1, and quit at wave 21 after getting all the achievement except the last one. [*]Third run: Reached wave 50 and completed the game. I started at wave 30 with all weapons upgraded. Spent 2 hours. [/olist] [h1]Tips[/h1] Circling strategy works well on this game. Use the minigun to kill fast aliens, and then use the pistol to finish off the slower aliens. Conserving ammo is important because you'll need them for the "boss" waves, so use the pistol whenever you can. [h1]Linux[/h1] The native Linux version of the game does not exist because the developer forgot to upload the files. I completed the game using Proton on Arch Linux.

[h1]Attack of the Alien Thingies From Lava![/h1] AATFL is what I will reference the game as in this review. AATFL is an anti-bullet hell game, instead of enemies hovering around you and shooting you, they are just hovering around you like those stupid fruit flies in the summer. It's your job as the Roblox Thumb Thumb from Spy Kids to exterminate all the Geckos while trying to stay on the floating rock that's travelling down Mustafar's lava river. (I swear I can hear a lightsaber duel in the background) Pros: The game functions. The controls are predictable and make sense. Actually pretty good music on the menu. The game is genuinely fun without (seemingly) any bugs. The designs for the characters are interesting. They look absolutely terrible but that's all part of the fun on this one. Cons: No music in the actual gameplay area. The random occurance of different "power ups" make the game difficult or sometimes near impossible to (economically(naturally)) progress through. As the "aliens" that appear can have a shirt sporting what they drop, in which one wave of what I played NONE spawned. Trying to suicide when I have no bullets left the aliens kept pushing me back from the lava and I couldnt die quick enough xD Okay so, AATFL isn't great. I don't expect Activision or EA (well EA would tbh) to take this game up any time soon, but AATFL is enjoyable if you do like to defeat the waves of geckos. From my perspective there's nothing really wrong enough with the game for me to complain about it. I'll whine that I ran out of bullets despite only making headshots, and none of the enemies are dropping coins, but that's all part of the package. I actually see AATFL being genuine fun if it was local co-op. The game is free, download it, try it, get the achievements because they're super easy. And let people know here how you feel about this game so that more people will know about it. Recommended for some silly fun. A cute game to enjoy for first few minutes before realization kicks in how much polishing this school project needs. It is lovely that the creator is sharing his first game ever, although when you know that every single thing will annoy the player after first 5 minutes - better do not put such games on gaming platforms.
