It was a fun for a $20CAD game! Don't expect anything more that a decent old school remake of an Intellivision classic!

Tolles Steam Deck Spielchen für zwischendurch mit Nostalgie Flash. Eigentlich hätte ich es mir am Amico gewünscht, aber man kann ja schon froh sein, dass man so überhaupt die Chance hat, Astrosmash zu bekommen. Am Steam Deck ist es wirklich toll. Da es keine Pausegunktion gibt, kann man das Deck einfach ins Standby setzen und später weiterspielen. Der Soundtrack ist einfach wunderschön. Er passt thematisch perfekt zu den verschiedenen Stages. Online Ranglisten wären noch ne tolle Sache. Ansonsten lädt es immer wieder mal auf eine Runde ein.

Is this the most deep game you’ve ever played? No, but it’s actually not that bad for a quick hit. I liked the OG version on Intellivision, and this plays kinda the same. Graphics are decent for what is needed. The music is a little over the top, but I think it gives the game a bit of charm. Don’t let the Amico stink chase you off of it. Oh, and it got an update, so now you can actually pause the game, so there’s that.

Quick take: Pros - Classic gameplay, bright and colourful graphics, outstanding music Cons - Repetitive action (this is Astrosmash after all) Bottomline - Lots of nostalgic value for me as I remember my dad playing the original on intellivision when I was a kid. The good news is that kept the core gameplay intact and did a nice audiovisual update. For that reason I'm happy with my purchase.

Sadly too expensive for what you get as I reached level 10 on my 1st try. Sure the music is great and the 10 levels are nice but that is not enough for 20$+ CAD. The multiplayer once again had no one, i waited and waited and nothing happened. There are 2 major issues in game you cannot pause nor you can quit once you start a game. I got refunded - I might repurchase the game once it becomes discounted at least by 50%. edit: I did repurchase it at 50% off. A good price for the game and it seems a bit harder. I hope maybe one day that i can actually play vs others in a multiplayer game. There is always no one online.

Pretty cool remake of Astrosmash! I really like that you can access the 1981 version from inside the game as well and "Shark! Shark!" also includes the original game! The best thing about the game is the in-game leaderboard. If they improve anything, I hope they improve on that and make the leaderboard more extensive with more than just the top 100 players. The game is not expensive if you buy it as part of the "INTV Bundle". Overall really happy with my purchase.

Really fun game! Very well made, the levels are exciting and challenging at the same time. The point system is perfect, the soundtrack is just out of this world! Multiplayer is really amazing, most people will enjoy, even those who don't usually play games or are more on mobile. That's a top game right there and each level is very special. I love the bosses and the originality, the gameplay is excellent! *Edit: Now top 10 in the leaderboard with 279 000 points! Muahaha, I just beat Tron who was 10th, now 11th. This game should be 30$, not 15$! And it's addicting! Really cool, I highly recommend. I was playing Hearthstone, now playing this game more and streaming.

My family had an Intellivsion when I was a kid. I think Astrosmash came with the console, and it was the one that I played most. I was a bit disappointed when I heard that the new Intellivision remakes would be exclusive to the Amico. I really didn't want to buy a console. Therefore, I was very happy to find out that they changed their mind and brought the game to a variety of platforms. Is this game worth $15? Perhaps not, but I got it when it was on sale for a bit under $10. (Also, see the UPDATE below.) The sound and visuals were nice, and I had fun playing it. It did remind me of the original, even though it has it's own unique twists (for example, the power ups). Some of the reviews I've read said that they finished the game in ~45 minutes. I'm sorry that I'm not an epic gamer like those folks. My first game lasted for 0.4 hours, and I only got up to Level 6 before I died. However, I'll confess that I didn't use Hyperspace (not even once) on my first game. I wish the original version of the game was included. I agree with the people who said that including the original would better justify the price. I also think it would be interesting to see the game become more customizable (for example, via Steam Workshop). *UPDATE Nov 15, 2025: A while back, the devs updated this game to also include the original ASTROSMASH, so I'd say the price is worth it now.* I got the game after the December patch came out, so I did not encounter any of the bugs mentioned in some previous reviews. The game ran smoothly and flawlessly on a computer that I've had since late 2008 or early 2009 (although the video card was upgraded to an Nvidia GT1030, which is still a low bar by today's standards). I didn't try it with a controller (keyboard only). To sum it up, I enjoyed playing the game, and I will definitely play again. The nostalgia factor was appealing, but the game was just outright fun as well. I recommend it to any fans of the original. This is a great game for some casual, quick entertainment.
