a game that will not change anything in your life if you not gonna play it
GAME TYPE : It is basically a "trader game" with a fun "different" types of game. Well it's crappy game but it's addicting and when you try it then can happen that you realize that 2 hours later. ABOUT GAME : Well game is a trader game situated in space. The environment of the "game" changes every time so there will be no 2 same "games". As it is with "environment" same it is with the names of the planes also your "HOME" work planet changes every game (still called HOME). In game you trading few "basic" homeworld stuff ... like "IRON", "FOOD", "SHIP ENGINES" ... and many more. Every time you "change" planet also "BUYABLE" stuff changes and also prices changes every time too. You need to "know balance between the prices" so you can "make profit". Game did not provide any more "fun" beside the "game modes" described below. There is also an RPG element when you can buy a new ship. PLAY STYLE : Trader game with a few "game modes" as 1) QUICK GAME - basically "buyout" game (same model, same rules) 2) GAME MODES - with "LIMITED TURNS" (15-30-60) stands what it says same "BUYOUT" game just with one more rule ! limited turns ! and "BUYOUT" - finally described - well game is all about "getting rid mortgage" of your ship ... when you can pay to bank you win can continue to endless game. EVOLVE / DLCs : none ACCOUNT : no need GAME TIME : Well its like 5-15 minutes ... or endless ... depends cause game is pretty addicting. --- + --- + game type (trader / flash basic / click) + easy to learn + game time (unlimited) +++ addicting +++ unity (supports 4K) --- - --- - game type (trader / flash basic / click) - game time (5-15 minutes) --- addicting ----------------------------- GRAPHICS: 03/10 LEVEL DETAIL: 04/10 SOUND/MUSIC: 02/10 VIDEO: 00/10 CAMERA: 00/10 SPECIAL EFFECTS: 00/10 STORY: 00/10 CHARACTERS: 00/10 MECHANICS: 01/10 PS3 CONVERTING: 00/10 IDEA: 01/10 ADDICTION: 06/10 MUST PLAY: 00/10 RPG ELEMENTS: 01/10 ADDONS/DLCs: 00/10 ----------------------------- VERDICT: 01/10

Astro Emporia is an amazing accomplishment as the developer managed to take the brilliant, much loved concept of a space trading game and turn it into a shallow, pointless, empty experience unworthy of anyone's time. There's no nuance to this game... there's no space combat, there's nothing but trading to buy a ship with larger capacity to trade some more. Travel is just a matter of two clicks, select the planet then click on the travel button. The trading screen is just a single page where you can buy and sell stuff, and everything is basically the same with slightly different prices. Find a profitable trade pair and just do that until you have a lot of money, I guess? There's a limited turn mode, and a couple of other attempts to turn this into a game, but it doesn't help. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just iPhone screen tapping stuff. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes Astro Emporia might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only appears around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. Astro Emporia is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
time wasting.
