About
Part city builder, part retro vehicle shooter. Tear down the ruins of the old world and use what you find to build a settlement. Rescue survivors from the wastes. Defend your people against waves of attacks from the rogue AI that ruined the old world. Procedural levels and random build order make every run unique.

Carve your way through the post-post-apocalyptic sprawl to find valuable resources and rescue settlers.

Every building you construct and how you position it affects your settlement's chance of survival.

The dark remnants of humanity’s past are not friendly.

Work together with your community to restore each wasteland to its natural glory.

How often do we get a solid shooter, tower defense, city builder and a marvelous indie game all into one?!?!! Who knows, but you might want to help and build up this settlement. We got plenty of a NOISE-y neighbors to deal with first! o0o Game-play : 10/10 Game is a very simple premise. Build up your city, create defense towers, diversify on how you build up your city to give you certain upgrades/benefits and defend yourself against the oncoming hordes of NOISE (the game's enemies). The game features some clever touches here from not just how quick you feel in the battlefield, but even the way it shows where attacks are coming to better help you prepare. Most of your city building amusingly enough comes from destroying the buildings around you spread the "green" around as you expand the settlement. Graphics : 10/10 I really have to credit SO much of this indie game's dedication to detail. While it's a very cartoony fashion on the top, EVERYTHING feels polished from unique looks of the buildings, towers, abandoned city and even the resources that stick out from buildings. Oh darn, need metal to build your settlement? Hold up! There's these buildings you came across that have these defining metal pipes sticking out from them! Shoot that building down and WHOA, you got your metal! o0o There's so much to praise about good work from whether its the style and its colorful focus on your settlement, the shaky/unique look of your tank, to even the settlers how they don different hats/clothing to each their tasks that get assigned. Explosions, lighting to indicate the presence of the NOISE, it's all there. I could go on, but there was true passion poured into this game that I hope you see too. <3 Controls: 10/10 Haven't yet played a game that controls as sharp and perfect as Existential Treads. Played the game with the ole mouse/keyboard, but this game never failed for its simple controls. You didn't feel like you couldn't control your tank well enough or didn't know how to rotate buildings or flip between different weapons. As simple as pineapple on pizza. Shocking, but true. o0o Sound/Music : 10/10 Although there isn't a HUGE variety in the music, but the game utilizes the limited to stay perfect. The chipper music as you build, the ramping up as the time ticks down before the next wave and the speedy pace of the wave on the attack to make your eyes/brain panic. Despite that, you'll never tire from the game being quiet (in a good way). There's no dead zone of any sounds/music that doesn't tickle your eyes (or notify you when you're out of Boost/Gas). Even when the defining pitch you hear when the noise are directly attacking you or you can hear the sound of an enemy tower charging up its next shot. And for the love of everything, I gotta immensely praise the game's main title music. No track better sums up the energy, the rock, the fun you got in store when starting up the game. A genuine head-rocking masterpiece. Difficulty : 10/10 No joke, this game handles its difficulty so beautifully. The tower defense games can vary insanely on their toughness and worse is a game where despite your efforts (or RNG) you just CANNOT beat a level/wave. Existential Treads doesn't do that at all. You naturally scale up more and more slowly, and you gotta make sure to swing by your settlement when the wave is attacking. It can be dead simple (the additional weapons help), but I really actually enjoy how the devs were really clever to vary up how the NOISE slightly vary or creep around the attack path. So much so, that I was focusing on one side of my base and a few NOISE creeped around my HQ to give me a Game Over. The balance between a bit of hand-holding but just enough to learn how to stay on your feet. Absolutely LUV'd the game's difficulty. <3 Story : 10/10 Nothing too crazy here, but the game does off a quick tale to tell as you go about the campaign. Even how they even include added touches from the saved people you come across as a way to introduce some addtional storytelling (or the world's zany lore). Some great laughs along the way, but this game definitely keeps its humor as well as a pretty good/wholesome message by the end of it. Chalk this up as another solid win. *nods* Audience: Oh gosh, this indie game EASILY goes for everybody. Sure, lots of explosions, guns, but no actual blood/violence to be near that extreme. The cartoon-y aspect only benefits the game and I think any age could pick-up and enjoy this game. Just be mindful, it can be a bit fast-paced. ^o^ Cost : 100/10 Look, I normally don't finish off Steam games 100%. At this point in writing I've scraped up 7.7 hours, got the Steam Blue Ribbon all because this game was THAT worth it. Bought it for next to nothing and it has become one my most beloved tower defense games. The cost (even at full) is insanely worth it to pick up this game. Trust me. TLDR: 10/10 - A solid indie game cooked with passion, energy and bristling with a true sense of wonder and fun. The charm of this game shines through with a great concept, beautiful visuals and a prefect price tag to match. Do not miss out on this masterpiece in indie gaming. *nods nods nods* Final Thoughts: Jeez, what more do I have to say? This game literally came out of nowhere for me and I could not stop praising it endless as I've done. Every part of this game is shining as much as that main theme tune still rocks so hard in my head. Without any doubt, this game will always hold a special place in my heart. Bless Ash & Adam for their is masterpiece in indie gaming here. And like the game itself says, stay human you wonderful people! *tips hat and rolls off with tank into the sunset*
Great little arcade action run-based game that doesn't overstay its welcome. Great "podcast game" and I look forward to more from them.
Overall a good game which needs roguelike abilities. This is sort of a tower defense game which allows you to place towers on grass only. You can plant grass seeds if you choose the grass seed gun. You can repair your towers with the glue gun, and you can add houses for the city building feature for workers. Ash & Adam's Existential Treads is essentially 3 genres in one, FPS, Tower Defense and City Builder. I'm not a fan of the city building aspect. You can attack the pink towers where your monsters come out of, but 9 out of 10 times you'll take serious damage, so just scrap that idea if you don't have grass seeds to plant a defense tower close to the pink towers where the monsters exit from. Kind of an unfair disadvantage you're burdened with. This game would definitely be so much better if there were upgrades you can carry over to the next game. Unfair game, too frustrating, too many directions the monsters can attack your castle. but overall a neat concept which desperately needs roguelike abilities. Full controller support.
Art stlye look cool and its fun
It might be a little heavy handed with the message, but this is a very fun game. it has some great replay value as well.
期待能做的更好玩点,加入地图随机,武器能更多点。地图再大点。
