The game isn't bad, just not good either. I skip the talking, thus my low hours. Unfortunately the game is held back by a bunch of unnecessary in-game stats that you constantly have to manage. They also don't act anywhere close to realistic. Miss a day of class to do what you're supposed to be doing? Watch your grades plummet and get quickly closer to one of the game's many game overs. None of it looks like the Steam Store pictures, large amounts of art are still missing almost a year later, extremely rare updates, unclear benefits to some of the actions that are supposed to help you, constantly needing to lower your suspicion yet it always goes up more then you can get it to passively decrease causing whole days to be wasted doing time consuming actions, and more. Overall the skeleton for a good game is there. However, it need serious trimming. Get rid of all the bloated and frustrating stats, get the art in there, and work on bug fixes and the non-existent story since everyone can't get the stuff they need to advance it anyways. This is one bad patch from breaking it's back.
This could be good (or will be good) but it isn't good right now
The concept, story, and worldbuilding seem to be on the right track for immersion, but the controls and UI of the game just don't work in the sense that things aren't functional. I WAS actively reading the story and going through those two books to see if there was information on what to do, but the game doesn't want to me continue in a backend sense. The window says it has a preferred resolution, but even on its preferred resolution, almost every single infomation panel is formatted awkwardly, or flows off window. There are many missing links and non-functional forwards. Like buying a house that shows pictures of impressive artistic walls and floors, along with so many other features, then actually going there and its just home depot wallpaper glued on with dried macaroni and pasta water. Granted the game is in early access which is why it probably is like this, but buying this game just to basically wait until it's finished to actually play it is crazy work.
I was trying to play as the game intended but it just cuts off after I assume the first infest, leaving me stranded
not what i expected, boring...no option to change size of text which was rather hard on the eyes.
the story is fine... i guess... the gameplay is strictly text based which COC has proven to be great for this type of content IF done right. in this instance its very meh. the days fly by SUPER fast. go to school for a single class and its already time to go home and go to bed. the story feels loose and not very held together, the sex is sometimes accompanied with a picture, other times its maybe a couple of sentences describing the act. its just feels very plain and incomplete. the objective feels very simple to complete, its just going to be a lot of repetition and honestly with what the game is giving as a reward for your efforts i just don't feel its worth putting in time to complete. i hate to say this because i really think steam needs more AO games that aren't visual novels, but id at least wait till they finish the game, if that ever happens...
This game scratches some very unique itches. It's not perfect, but in a lot of ways it reminds me of some old text based games from the late 80's and early 90"s and scratches the nostalgia itch quite nicely as well. Perhaps the game's minor imperfections are part of that. Have not encountered game breaking bugs which is a plus. I love the relatively simplistic artwork, which appears to be hand drawn/painted. Many seem to be done with charcoal, and as an artist myself I can appreciate it. Love this game and I hope they keep working on it.
This is a promising game with its own special features. Deep plot and freedom of choice, just the way I love it! the only thing that upset me was the lack of Russian in the game, I hope the developers will add it in the future, at least machine language. because the method, which is currently the only possible one, is extremely inconvenient.
