About

Sick to death of H.P. Lovecraft-based games yet? No? That's great! If you are... well... still play this one.
Dagon is all like 'yo' and Perry/you is all like 'sup'. Dagon needs you to destroy the human town of Innsmouth, but you're all like 'there are a lot of people living there, so I'mma need to get an army worthy of Mordor so I can simply walk into Innsmouth'. Dagon's all 'sure, but you have a time limit because that's how this game has replayability'.
At its heart, AoT:(N)ACDS is a coming-of-age tale about a boy/girl that is totally going to destroy humanity. By humanity, we mean a small coastal town. It is the Adventure-RPG based upon Shadow Over Innsmouth, where you control the eldritch horrors from beyond time and space!

- Quirky 2D art. Like the theme of sanity in all of Lovecraft's works, the art changes - sometimes drastically based on where you are in the game, who you are talking to, and what you are doing.
- Time management is also a factor, as some areas only open up at certain times, and you may find yourself unable to train everyone you want before the final invasion of Innsmouth.
- A SILENT PROTAGONIST. REVOLUTIONARY.
- Fully voiced cast of 60+ characters!
- Four central hub areas
- Whale Jesus (but only in the most awesome of playthroughs)
- Use your wits to engage in battles where words are sharper than swords or other things that hurt people in reality! Because NOBODY has EVER done conversation-based combat before!
- Recruit a party of THOUSANDS (if thousands meant six), ranging from Deep Ones to Night Gaunts, all staples of the Lovecraft mythos! Find hidden army squads and party members to further puff up your ranks!
- Do things that relate to other things and provide consequences of choice! We totally have more than three differently colored endings! We swear! (At least five! One is even pink!)
And no, it's not a Cthulhu Dating Simulator. Honestly.
No, really.

Reviews
Hey everyone and this is my review about the game! This is a TEXT WALL and click game.
Interface/Menu/Settings
Video Settings information.

You can only toggle between fullscreen or windowed mode.
Volume Settings Information.

There is a music volume slidebar available.
There is a sound volume slidebar available.
There is a Voice volume slidebar available.
Miscellaneous Information.

There is a scrolling slidebar available.

About the game.
Well OBVIOUSLY this is a Simulation game. It's filled with text and clicking... You are able to do quests and fighting some monsters by using texts... Yes it's pretty absurd. When failing to choose the right answer during a "fight chat" you will take some damage. Taking too much damage will lead to a game over and forces you to restart the game from the beginning or from a save state. This game is only about Reading, clicking and making a good decision. Ingame Information.

Game looks really cheap. (Sadly isn't for this price)
Background Pictures are real based pictures. Most likely ripped from Google.
These Voiced-overs are annoying in some way.
They try a bit too hard to be funny.
Game is boring. I meant Book.
You can skip dialogues by holding down the control button.
Shift tab and chatting to a friend is laggy.
Miscellaneous Information.

I think this game relies a little bit too much on "Lame jokes".

Other things.
There are better "Dating SIMS" out there on steam. This isn't one of them at all. The biggest Dislike is the voice-Over from this game. -------------------
Reviews are always uploaded if i have at least played for 2 hours or more. Unless the game is really garbage and doesn't deserve the 2H limit.
I Give this game a 3/10
Complete trash, lots of weird bugs make the game unplayable i.e. your quests randomly dissappear and at multiple points in the game a certain action is impossible because you get an error were you get a bunch of code thrown in your face and you have to close the game.

this game has prepared me for a D&D adventure
I like weird, quirky games. I wanted to like this one. I got 13 minutes in, just past the intro. The fourth-wall-breaking lampshade-hanging 'jokes' and the extremely disparate artstyles got to me. Probably the worst of it was the protagonist's eternal unchanging vague smile that never fit with what they were saying/doing. Nothing quite fits, really, and not in a 'sanity-questioning' way that feels like a deliberate choice, but rather like a bunch of assets got lazily thrown together. Is it really that hard to add a few expressions for the character that near-constantly takes up 1/4 of the screen? Maybe it gets better? Like I said, only made it past the intro. It didn't hook me. There were hints of some unfolding plot, some different mechanics, maybe some intrigue and misdirects, but I just wasn't motivated to stick around for any of it. I'm not mad I bought it but I'm certainly glad I only bought it on sale. Pros: The voices were decent and the uncle's design was pretty cool.

A forth wall breaking romp through Cthulhu lore. It is filled with unique characters and entertaining dialog. The voice acting is great but the editing is a little rough. The writing and humor is spot on, I enjoyed every bit of it. The throwbacks and references to old school rpgs had me grinning every time. The UI is a little bare bones but gets the job done. I'm excited to give it another playthrough or two to explore some of the branching paths.
