[h1]How NOT to design an Arkanoid type game[/h1] If you loved Arkanoid back in the day, do not buy this junk. I have played many games since the arkanoid days that try to be like it, but this fails miserably. Really poor effort. My Score - 1/10

[h1]Описание:[/h1] Арканоид. Все как всегда - гоняем шарик по полю, мочим им блоки и стараемся отбить его движущейся платформой. Ничего особо нового нет, есть пара фишек но все уже где-то виданные. Графика не очень, звуки и музыка тоже. Уровней много, но они все непримечательные... Так скажем обычный арканоид. Есть он хорошо, нет его тоже хорошо. Играть? Ну можно когда совсем совсем делать нечего. Покупать? Точно не стоит. Оценивать не буду, т.к. ну не знаю даже... Ему и кол поставить можно, а баллов 5 из 10 накинуть, редко такое бывает, когда даже не знаешь что игре дать. Не рекомендую. В семействе арканоидов пополнение. Данная игра все тот же старый, добрый арканоид, но в то же время имеет множество интересных и заманчивых нововведений. Преимущества игры: - Страндартный аркадный режим: дается несколько жизней, начало игры с первого уровня, задача - дойти до последнего. - Обычная игра: здесь вы можете начать любой уровень, при условии, что вы его прошли. То есть на старте открыт только первый уровень. Далее вам будут доступны все пройденные уровни. - Конструктор: в данном режиме вы сами сможете построить уровень так, как вам захочется. В игре куча достижений, есть коллекционные карты, доска почета и подключена мастерская. Всем любителям арканоидов - рекомендую приобрести данную игру.

My first ever experience of an arcade machine was a game called Pong, I was five-ish and my Dad wanted to give it a try while waiting for a lane to come free at the Ten pin bowling ally. Dad was a Ten pin and a pinball wizard, but Arcade games were beyond him so he left the game in my incapable five year old hands. To say, I was no wizard and the game ended faster than an exploding balloon. A year later Breakout hits the Arcade and I was hooked on games for the first ever time, mostly because I could last half an hour without dying. Ark Box Unlimited tries to be a cross between Breakout and Space Invaders. An implementation that should have been given more thought. No that PolarityFlow have fail, but more to the point that the game concept got lost and it is still just a Breakout on steroids. Game play itself. Basically it is Breackout, with more bells and whistles. You start with a ship/bumper and fire a ball from it to knock out the bricks. As the ball bounces around you need to keep it in play, all the while collecting credits for upgrades and avoid bullets from alien ships. The faster you clear the screen of bricks the higher you score will be. But there is a fair bit of sacrificing in the game, do you want credits and sacrifice the ball or save the ball and watch the credits fly by. This is mostly controlled by A & D for left and right movement, the LMB for shooting the ball. The ball will get captured by your ship but this is random and no clear key or button is know. Also your ship will start shooting missiles after a certain time, but again this is random and you seem to have no control over this. You can upgrade you ship with mods bought with credits collected any of the play modes (Upgrades seem to have littl or no effect on game play at this moment). You also have an Achievements wall (which looks to be separate to the one on Steam). There are four play mode to choose from, free play, arcade, community and customise. Community and Customise are both connected and should be classed as a single mode. Free Play:- Free play you play six lots of six levels giving you a total of 36 levels to get highest score and then share that score on the Hall of fame, to keep score with others around the world or to beat their score. 36 missions in free mode. Arcade:- Just as it says it is Arcade, so it is the obligatory 3 lives and if you loose them all. game over red rover. Community:- Is where you can play others creations and/or share you own. Customise:- Here you get to create your own costume maps and either play them yourself or upload them for others to play. In main menu Options you have the standard music and sound volume controls, plus a good assortment of video options. Also some limited customisation of ball and blocks. The game graphics are crisp and clean 2D, music is ok but it is the same track for the whole game, so I recommend some Pet Shop Boys or Talking Heads mellowing in the background. In all Ark Box Unlimited is a nice stroll down memory lane and makes a nice time waster arcade. But if PolarityFlow should pimp up the Space invaders side of the game, then this could become a classic. The best breakout/arkanoid type game on steam at the moment. Good fun and recommended if you like this genre. Use a gamepad though.

Fun little game , Feels like a true arcade game, simple and a challenge. Hours of box hitting fun.
