I'm so happy to see this game in a release state! The combat is intuitive and feels balanced at low levels, the card upgrade system feels meaningful and not overly grindy and the cooking system is a great addition from beta. I worked through the first 15 levels tonight and had a great time doing it. Looking forward to seeing combat / difficulty progress as I delve the higher dungeon levels and reach the bosses. Give this game a shot. The art style is truly unique, the game play is simple but fun and the price is right.
This is a fun turn-based RPG with a card battle system. The art style is cute and the gameplay loop is enjoyable. Battles can get pretty challenging and tactical as you progress. Upgrading and getting new cards is fun.
Highly recommend giving this game a run through, especially for the price! It's a lot of fun, has a really cute art style and I enjoyed the humor a lot. The systems are really well designed, I especially love the Accessory system for equipping your character which reminds me of badges from Paper Mario! Looking forward to seeing more titles from this developer in the future!
What a wonderful little game! I damned near played through the whole game in one sitting, I was so hooked. There are obviously still issues to polish out, but it was never anything that took away from the game. My only suggestion would be to make the items that drop last a little longer before they disappear, but otherwise loved it.If you like card-based battles, this is a game you will enjoy for sure.
It looked like a cute enough deckbuilder game, and for the price, I was willing to give it some leeway. The biggest issue to me is the user interface - there are buttons in the corner to access menu, deck etc, but you can't click on them - you have to use the hotkeys assigned to them. I mistakenly clicked "start game" instead of "load game," which started me over from the beginning - why is that first option, or even an option at all? This isn't the sort of game that you just casually start over. I put an hour in before taking a break, and I was willing to give it some more time (I had only made it to level 7 of 100+), but when I loaded my game (with the "load game" button) I found out that it hadn't saved my full playtime - it put me back at where I was when I manually saved my game earlier. I assumed there was an auto-save feature, but apparentlly not.
Overall I enjoyed it. It has a nice roguelite loop to it, and being able to customize your cards is a very fun mechanic. I'll also say the final bits of the game threw in some nice twists, and the general challenge curve felt good throughout the whole game.
I received this game from the developer for free. I have played this game for ~15 hours without Steam running in the background to track it, so pay the "83 minutes" play time no mind. Aria and the Crystal Kingdom is an entertaining game with an addictive gameplay loop and fast action. It combines elements from Paper Mario, KH Chain of Memories, Diablo, and Magic the Gathering. The Akira Toriyama inspired art is colorful and fun. There are tons of customization options available and it is fun just going back into the dungeon again and again trying different decks and seeing what kind of goodies you can collect. This game is fun in short bursts as well as long hauls. I would definitely recommend picking up this title.
Well, it didn't meet my taste, it's no world exploring, just one rectangular room after the other, only differences are how things like bushes or rocks and so on are scattered around and the location of the exit door.
