Fantastic anti-grav racer that brings a lot of new fun mechanics to the table I'm a huge fan of the energy bar and it being filled with items strategically placed on the track and I like that it has 2 uses to help during races. Also a big fan of the boost after landing off a jump as it's something simple to do but makes you look out for it. Can't wait to see all the future ideas that get added to this game and I'm glad the creator is active in regards to anything that is posted in the discussions tab.

If you've itching for another F-Zero game, Arc Racer will help scratch that itch. Fun ship and course design and an awesome techno soundtrack. It doesn't have the wacky charm that F-Zero GX had with its colorful pilots, but Arc Racer also feels much, much more forgiving in order to succeed. Pros -Variety of race modes, AI difficulties, and speed classes make the most out of course list. Zen is particularly great as you feel the lurching increase of speed as the race continues, forcing you to adjust your lines and adapt, and also gives you a taste for the higher speeds even as you practice at the easier speeds/difficulties. -Courses can pose a challenge with some easier ones if you're just looking for a chill, futuristic racing game -The shared energy between shield and boost is a fun dynamic that can make you play certain courses or ships differently. -Groovy, frenetic soundtrack. Solid sound design. -Graphics and course design have a neat, futuristic and geometric vibe. -In a world of increasingly expensive games, it's nice to find an affordable game with plenty of content (I'm writing this having completed the beginner's level events and with about half the course/ships/events still left to unlock). Cons/Missed Opportunities -It could very well be my PC, but there were a couple times it feel like the game stuttered or nearly crashed. The one crash I have experienced was, ironically, trying to exit the game. -Unlike F-Zero, the ships don't boast any eccentric or charismatic drivers. It's understandable why this wasn't included since it's more of a peripheral feature, but it does make the races a little more hollow. -You unfortunately cannot attack/crash the other racers outside of ineffectually bumping into them, and the latter only proves effective under very specific, unlikely to occur circumstances. -Races and challenges are divided into cups, but despite the name, your progress and results are tracked on an event-by-event basis. If you were expecting a grand prix like experience where you have to outpace your rivals via a cumulative points system, that doesn't exist. This can be nice if you're having trouble with a particular event, since bombing it won't tank your progress, but it's something you should be aware of if you enjoy that kind of game mode. Verdict: If you're looking for a fun racing game, or miss the sensations of F-Zero, Arc Race is worth the purchase at full price.

My only complaint there isn't enough of it.

This game is addictive and relaxing at the same time. The different racing styles keep it interesting during the campaign, music is fantastic and the overall game has a nostalgic feel. Cross platform support is great as well. If you enjoy racing games or the retro-futuristic atmosphere this game is definitely worth it.

amazing game, I like the physics in this more than any other AG racer. It feels like a mix of ballisticNG and redout 1 and the side shift mechanic is very fun. The aesthetic is great, especially the UI. No multiplayer support is tragic. But considering the difficulty of implementing multiplayer (and the low playerbase that AG racers get) it's understandable. Still a very fun game to play solo and I hope it keeps getting updates.
