good game overall. also worth getting the packes
Way too basic compared to what I was expecting. There are some free design tools out there that are better, have more variety, and better controls. Edit: Honestly, now that I think about it, a lot of companies would pay you to put their products into your game, so there really is no excuse for why the variety of decor and patterns is so limited. This is really just a halfassed scam.
I was looking forward to playing this but it ended up being kind of career-driven. I prefer more free games not ones where we specifically have to do something. I suppose some people may like it, which is why I'm recommending it. I think it has potential, overall. However, in my preference I would prefer something else like Sim, or Minecraft even
good game
I do recommend this game as there are pro's and cons: Pro's It's fun to be able to challenge myself: -Sticking to the Budgets -Sticking to the square footage - Getting perks that are beneficial to the builds - The designs being modern (especially if that is what you are into - Choosing your contractors - A basic list to add the things required for each room - Pre-planning room sizes via names - Building cut scenes with a lot of different variables and things happening! I really do enjoy a lot of those things listed, and can also see them being perks for others. Cons: - Instructions aren't always exactly clear - You don't really get any alternative building areas if you don't have certain construction perks unlocked - Everything being modern- from windows, to furniture, to stairs. This is an issue for me personally as I am a sucker for vintage things or a contemporary-modern style. - Minimal clutter, decor and furniture items to pick from to add variety so it kind of starts to get old looking at what you put in the house. - Roof adjustments feel weird and hard to do. Overall the game is fun- and you do have the ability to endlessly build, but considering in the game I am supposed to be an architect, it's really disappointing in the amount of different styles for the homes. It seems like you are at the end of the day stuck more with modern items than the opportunity to pick from a wide variety. I do think that could make the game more fun! Over all I do think if you like modern/contemporary things and building in the Sims and not wanting to play a Sim itself- this is great for that!
Architect Life: A House Design Simulator is a creative building and management simulation developed by Shine Research and published by Nacon. The game places players in the role of a professional architect responsible for designing, planning, and supervising the construction of modern residential homes. Unlike many design-focused simulation titles that concentrate mainly on interior decoration, this game attempts to simulate the entire architectural process from the initial concept phase all the way to the final completed building. Through a combination of creative building tools, project management mechanics, and client-driven objectives, the game provides a comprehensive look at the work involved in designing and constructing houses while still maintaining a gameplay structure accessible to players without architectural training. The central component of the experience is its career mode, where players establish and manage their own architectural firm. Starting with relatively small projects and modest budgets, players gradually build their reputation by completing residential commissions for various clients. Each project begins with a set of requirements provided by the client, including preferences for room types, aesthetic styles, available budget, and sometimes specific environmental constraints tied to the building site. These conditions influence how players approach each design, requiring them to balance creativity with practicality. As projects are successfully completed, the architectural firm gains recognition and unlocks larger and more complex construction opportunities, allowing players to gradually tackle increasingly ambitious designs. The design system itself forms the backbone of the gameplay. Players begin by shaping the structural layout of the house, creating floor plans by placing walls and defining rooms in a flexible 3D construction interface. The system allows for detailed control over building dimensions, including wall placement, ceiling height, roof structure, and window positioning. Roofs can be customized with different slopes and shapes, while doors, staircases, and architectural features can be carefully integrated into the layout. This planning stage requires players to consider not only visual appeal but also the functionality of the living space, ensuring that rooms connect logically and that the overall design remains comfortable and practical. Once the structural layout has been finalized, the focus shifts toward interior design and customization. Players can select from a wide range of materials and furnishings to give each room its own character. Flooring options, wall textures, lighting fixtures, furniture arrangements, and decorative objects allow players to create homes that reflect a variety of architectural styles, from modern minimalist houses to cozy family residences. The system encourages attention to detail, allowing players to fine-tune color palettes and spatial arrangements in order to craft cohesive interiors that match the client’s expectations. Beyond the interior, exterior design and landscaping also play an important role in shaping each project. Players can develop outdoor spaces that complement the architecture of the house by adding gardens, patios, terraces, swimming pools, garages, and other amenities. The game includes different environments and terrain types, meaning that houses may be built in diverse settings such as suburban neighborhoods, rural countryside landscapes, or mountainous regions. Designing homes that integrate well with their surroundings becomes an important creative challenge, especially when terrain features influence how the structure must be positioned. Another significant aspect of the simulation involves overseeing the construction phase of the project. Once the design is approved, players must manage the building process by hiring subcontractors and allocating the available budget carefully. Construction does not always proceed perfectly, and unexpected issues can arise that require adjustments to the project plan. Managing these situations effectively becomes part of the challenge, as players must ensure that the project remains within budget while still meeting the client’s expectations. This layer of management adds depth to the gameplay, preventing the experience from being purely a creative sandbox and instead introducing elements of strategic decision-making. Progression within the career mode unlocks additional building tools, materials, and architectural technologies. As players gain experience and reputation, they gain access to new construction options such as eco-friendly building systems, advanced materials, and more complex design features. These additions expand the range of possibilities available to players, allowing them to create increasingly sophisticated homes as their architectural firm grows. For players who prefer unrestricted creativity, the game also offers a free build mode. In this mode, the constraints of client requests and budgets are removed, allowing players to design homes entirely according to their own imagination. Various terrain types and environmental settings can be selected, providing a sandbox environment where architectural experimentation becomes the primary focus. This mode is particularly appealing for players who enjoy construction and design tools without the pressure of completing structured objectives. A particularly immersive feature of the game is the ability to explore completed houses from a first-person perspective. After finishing a project, players can walk through the interior and exterior spaces they created, experiencing the house as if they were physically visiting it. The lighting system allows players to adjust the position of the sun and observe how natural light interacts with different rooms throughout the day. This viewing mode enhances the sense of accomplishment by allowing players to appreciate the results of their design choices in a realistic spatial environment. Visually, the game presents its environments with a clean and modern aesthetic that emphasizes architectural clarity. Buildings are rendered with realistic proportions and materials, allowing players to clearly see how their design decisions affect the final structure. Landscapes surrounding the houses add atmosphere and variety, with different environmental settings providing distinct backdrops for each project. While the graphics prioritize functionality rather than highly stylized visuals, they effectively support the creative focus of the gameplay. The sound design is relatively subtle, providing a calm and relaxed atmosphere that complements the slow and thoughtful pace of architectural design. Background music remains unobtrusive, allowing players to concentrate on their projects without distraction. Sound effects associated with construction tools and environmental ambience add a sense of realism without overwhelming the player. Overall, Architect Life: A House Design Simulator stands as an enjoyable entry in the construction simulation genre. Its blend of architectural design, project management, and creative freedom creates a gameplay experience that appeals to players who enjoy building and planning spaces. While it may not replicate every technical detail of real-world architecture, it captures the satisfaction of turning an empty plot of land into a thoughtfully designed home. For fans of creative simulation games and construction-focused gameplay, it offers a relaxing yet rewarding opportunity to step into the role of an architect and bring imaginative housing projects to life. Arvosana tälle "pelille","ohjelmistolle". 6/10 Rating for this "game","software". 6/10 Mikäli lisä osia ja laajempia määriä rakennus etc materiaaleja tulee niin helpostikkin arvosana voisi yltää 9/10. If additional parts and larger amounts of building etc materials came so easily, the rating could reach 9/10. ENG; Very potential and interesting "game". The only thing that left it "cold" is that the building materials were not as widely available as they are in real life, which is a limiting factor for creativity. I have dreamed of building a certain kind of "value cottage" since I was a child, it would have been nice to realize it with this "game". Unfortunately, the game has a very limited number of building materials, not everyone wants to create "concrete houses". For those who like modern "everything is white and sterile" type of design, it is a really good time to plan and create a "visual" look for their own dream home.
