The game recently got a major update. I figured that my review should account for it. The game was already cool before the update. However, it did add a good amount of replay value. You can now get armor for each character. Each character even has a special collection of armor just for them. New levels and difficulties were added as well. There's not much to complain about, which is nice. If I had to say something negative about the game, it would be the skill tree. I'm not a fan of how the cost raises after a while. Aside from that, I'm hooked once more.
The game is fun BUT the dev refuses to implement basic quality of life fixes that would make the game a lot more enjoyable. Then again, it's not a very expensive game so a very, very, very weak from me.

I actually do quite enjoy this game. The pixel art style and variety of synergies make it quite enjoyable for what is otherwise quite a basic survivors-like. [strike]HOWEVER, there is a game-breaking bug that I keep running into that is why I can't currently recommend this game. If you enter into a portal during the boss-phase, when you exit it the boss will have disappeared from the map. The time will continue counting down but when it reaches 0, nothing happens. This forces you to quit out the map, registering the run as a defeat. Now currently you can simply avoid entering portals in the end-phase (they just offer some additional resources for completing) but the frustration if you do is very annoying as it ruins your run. [/strike] EDIT: this has been fixed, thank you! I would also caution potential purchasers that currently there are only two possible maps (selected at random at the beginning of a run), and I would also recommend the devs implement more gameplay settings, particularly spell effect transparency as towards the end of a run you can end up with a very busy screen! PS. I like that the enemies all have unique death animations, it's a nice touch!
edit: came back for a couple days, and my review remains more or less the same. The core is there but there are a lot of QoL and balancing issues holding it back. It's better after the recent patch but still needs work in a lot of ways. The various elements aren't interesting enough (25% physical damage or 25% fire damage for your relic drop, m'lord?) to make up for the tedium and same-ness of every run. The enemies come in 3 speeds and one type can shoot bullets. The rest is scaling from HP pool, so torment 5 is the same game as normal, enemies just have hundreds of thousands of health now. This is compounded by the 'soundtrack' which is about 90 seconds on loop with an alternate 60 seconds on loop when the boss is in play. Speaking of bosses, they have 2 moves each (if that) and are 10x tankier than normal enemies so I hope you enjoy shuffling back and forth predictably for 5-10 minutes. The way the skills look and feel is good, and the way they've built in cross-synergy for every pairing is smart and enjoyable, so I think with time and several balance passes this will become actually good rather than provisionally good. The new item system is also a sign of good movement in the right direction and adds a lot to the game. The mission system needs a rework but could also provide room to grow. original: The bones are there, but the atrociously short pickup range makes playing very tedious. I'll come back to it in a bit to see how it has grown.
Прикольная игра, в целом много чего нового преподносит в жанре, в основном прокачки вне игровой сессии
чем то напоминает vampire survivals. очень классная и захватывающая игра. мне понравилось
Good bones but the balancing is AWFUL
неплохо
Seems like a solid base for a possibly good game. A lot of skills and characters, not sure yet how the grind is going to be.
