"Arcade Reflex" is the ripoff of Pong that nobody wanted or asked for but got thrown onto Steam anyway... to the sound of crickets.
This really is just Pong. It's got adaptive difficulty... but that's about it. It's not even multiplayer pong. Like... even the first Atari arcade machine, the first electronic arcade machine in the whole world, was two player. Imagine thinking you'd like to rip off a game from 1978, only make it even worse. Then look around wondering why you can't hear any cheering or applause. That's "Arcade Reflex".
This game barely has graphics... and worse, the "developer" used AI Slop for some of the artwork. Never acceptable... this is a sheer insult to gamers everywhere.
There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here.
Insultingly, the developer insists that you should play this with a console peasant children's toy gamepad instead of KB+M. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're designing games for. It's the responsibility of the developer to ensure the game runs well on the platform they're selling it on, with the primary peripherals that PC gamers use.
This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good.
The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak count was only ONE . That's right, only one person ever this at a time. When I this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak count for the . OUCH.
The only activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it.
Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it?
Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
