Ok, this wasn't terrible (the maze section was annoying, however) but I beat the game and I kinda feel like I didn't really understand what happened. I think a spider god was breaking our sanity or something? Or we were in an accident and the dreams never really happened? I dunno. Interesting game, some odd gameplay decisions (moving things is VERY tedious) but otherwise an OK game. Of note: it ends with To Be Continued. So take that as you will.
too short, no fear actually.
What I liked about the game
Araignees has a very cool vibe, the mix of 2d pixel art and 3D is well-made and the multiple visuals effect like this big noisy fog present throughout the whole game is very nice. I also really like the narrative:
you basically are "dreaming" of this weird spider fever dream but every time you "lose" you wake up, and things have changed
.
What I didn't liked about the game
Boy this game is SLOW... like V E R Y S L O W. There is a point in the game where you have a sprint button, but I really wish it was present throughout the whole game. Most of the time I really enjoyed discovering a new area, and then I fell in a hole or got caught by something, and then my characters waked up. It wouldn't be a problem, if the game wasn't as slow. I mostly really enjoyed the first time in a new area, and then I waked up, and had to do everything again. There is a point in the game where you have to navigate a labyrinth while being chased. The tension really works well, at least the first few times, and then it's basically gone. It just turns into a trial and error trying to find the right way.
Do I recommend this game?
Yes! This is a very small game, and you basically can finish it in a little over 1h30, it's very slow and gets a little frustrating sometimes, but it's still a very enjoyable experience overall. Plus, it's made by 1 person alone, which is always very impressive to me. O O O O O \____/

All in all a nice game! Cool Horror game! There where some places where you could get yourself stuck. Some of the collision could be a bit improved. And at some point the slow walking makes it a bit anoying if you feel like exploring. But all in all its a nice game and the dev probably put his heart into it. If you like small horror games give it a try!
I cannot get past the first obstacle wall because the physics in this game are... very frustrating. Cannot really recommend it in its current state.
For a one human job, this game def deserves credit. However... *smile upside down emoji* The physics and mechanics of the game are kinda gawky and needs improvement. Even though I liked the whole pixel graphic designs, I couldn't get passed the first puzzles. Items are either impossible to grab or else you have to do some acrobatic work to get through the clumsiness, which ends up getting tiresome. And the sprint function is sometimes randomly deactivated, apparently, which adds to the frustration. So at this stage, I can only say I love the graphics but, I cannot really recommend it.
To this day i cannot find the crystal, what the hell
most budget indie horror games are bad(jumpscare) good(jumpscare) or good(oh hey this is pretty cool) and i think this game is good
Excellent jeu!
