I've been enjoying my time learning Aquapazza before this port came out but unfortunately this port is not the way to play it at this time. Untranslated text, delay-based netcode for online fighting, bizarre bugs (Konomi Back Throw oddities) and FPS issues that should not be happening on a modern mid-range PC are enough to make just playing it offline feel terrible. I've tried several of the fixes recommended to me to make it run at a stable fps and unfortunately none of them work out on both nvidia PCs I have tried. If this changes, I will update my review but as it stands right now I cannot recommend this version of the game. If you would like to check the game out instead of being frustrated, I recommend the PS3 version.
Didn't expect it but the new update released today fixed many problems the port had. Finally playable now. (Still needs an exit game button on title screen though)

Completely destroyed my controller support on Steam. Game glitched out while trying to play online. Having seen the negative reviews, my expectations were low. I was expecting crap but "at least it's something". This is. Unplayable.
This is one of my favorite games ever but this port is dogwater. The netcode is not only delay which is bad in the best of cases, but it is uniquely awful delay netcode. Additionally, the game is horribly optimized but even if you can get it to run at a stable 60 you can't even launch this game without a network connection. Completely unacceptable.
TL;DR If you just want to experience Aquapazza, then this is apt. If you're looking for an improved port to play online, this game is kinda tough to recommend. As much as I love Aquapazza and would give it a 8/10 just for the game, as a port this game is more of a 5/10. They've updated to fix the small things, and are supposedly coming with rollback. The Good The original gameplay and visuals are there, but then again that's kind of a base line for a port... The Bad The Gameplay: So many small frustrating things that add up. Like a bug that as far as I know didn't exist in the original. The character select screen lets you pause and view frame by frame for some reason? [strike]The 2P controls by default are so jank and you can't even remap it. I can't even find the up/down buttons for 2P on the keyboard.[/strike] It's remappable now, though you still need to fiddle your way to the key config initially. [strike]The UI: Launching the game on English puts some placeholder key icon on all the button prompts, making them useless and simply confusing. When you launch it in Japanese it just puts it back to the original, which is just usual icons that do not tell you what keys they are. For some reason the character names aren't translated in some places.[/strike] They fixed most of the UI stuff, still no keyboard icons, but it's doable and no more "-" icons.
I mainly bought this with the intent to lab this offline in other to play with other friends offline occasionally. Surprisingly, the game failed to even let me do that properly, something that is extremely rare among the tens of fighting games I have ever bought on PC, including other Examu games. It would stall on the "creating new Save data" and not progress any further. Honestly, this might be on me for putting any faith in Examu.
PS3の時にオンライン対戦が重くて衰退したのを忘れたのか・・・ PC性能、ネット環境関係なくクソ重い。こんな昔のゲームがクソ重いてどういうことだよ
Giving a preemptive approval as the developers have confirmed that they're working on rollback and have been updating to improve the game in response to feedback over time. Hold off for now or buy on sale if you really want because the gameplay and characters are very fun.
Fighting + 13 characters + controller friendly = Anime tag team fighting from AQUAPLUS franchise. Choose your waifus (dudes) and button mash your way to victory or learn from the command list.
