Not gonna lie, this is ass, everyone has speedhacks, either the bullets or the hitboxes are gigantic, there's no feedback to tell you if you actually hit anything and the guns feel like pure garbage to shoot. This is the one time I'll ever say this: this game isn't meant for a modern audience, other than nostalgia this has absolutely no value.
легенда
Before gaming became the Pavlovian, XP-grinding, content-unlocking, DLC-laden, corporate circle jerk that it is today talented, driven individuals made games that they themselves wanted to play and released them for free as "mods". Action Quake 2 is one such game. With our modern sensibilities about what a game "should be" we might find Action unpalatable - fluid movement with no stamina system, limited health with a bandaging mechanic, low time to kill with highly accurate weapons, no "ADS". Who would want to play something so unforgiving? Can I unlock something to make it easier for me? Surely my level will go up and I will have more health or armor or weapons, or some kind of hero powers. ...but you won't find those here. What you will find is freedom. The freedom to have the same chance as your opponent whether you've played ten minutes or ten years. The freedom to get excited about seeing yourself improve. The freedom to get enjoyment from playing a game with a simple set of clearly defined limits honed to a razors edge, limited in scope, so that there is no mistake as to its identity. The freedom we gave up when we watched video games transform from interesting expression and challenge into business software. Fortnite and Call of Duty now share more with Microsoft Office 365 than they do this game. No one needs or even wants you to develop a skill or have meaningful fun. They want to ring the same tired bell and have you fold open your wallet one more time. Play this game - or don't - but think about where we came from and where we are now.
OK
Nostalgia!!
♥♥♥♥♥ ass game
