If you like Monopoly, this game offers a good variation of it.
There are 3 modes of gameplay: classic (the original board game), quaker, and anti-opoly. Each game requires 2-4 players to start, and you can choose to play against the computer (the AI can assume the role of up to 3 players) or against other friends (not online though, so your friends will have to sit beside you I guess?!). ● The classic version is the same as the board game, so nothing much to comment on that. ● I didn't play the quaker one that much, but from what I can remember, it didn't seem to be very different from the classic version either. ● The anti-opoly version I actually found quite fun. If you were sick of the original version of Monopoly going on forever, this version solves that because it's very easy to lose if you're not careful, therefore the game doesn't go on for very long. You can choose to play as either a "monopolist" or an "anti-monopolist". The rules for each differ, even though you're playing the same game! This is the twist, and probably what makes the game interesting. I played an equal number of times as a monopolist and anti-monopolist respectively, just to see whether the different rules affected the odds of winning. Turns out you pretty much have an equal chance of winning - you simply need to vary your gameplay strategy accordingly. E.g. #1 - As a monopolist, you would aim to buy all the railroads because that would make rental on each quadruple; as an anti-monopolist, buying all the railroads won't help (unless you want to stop your monopolist opponent from buying them) because rental on each would still be the same even if you owned all 4 railroads. E.g. #2 - As a monopolist, you would have to own the entire "set" of same-colour squares before you can build housing on them. As an anti-monopolist, you can build housing on any square on the board as long as you own that square - you don't have to have the full set. Of course, aside from the rules, a big part of the game still hinges largely on luck, as with the board game. Other miscellaneous things about the anti-opoly version to note: - Double dice on a 3rd throw lands you in jail, and a double dice throw gives you another turn. - Passing "Go" still gives you money, but less than in the classic version. - The "community chest" and "chance" cards are differently labelled and give different rewards/punishments compared to the classic version. - If you run out of money on your turn, the game is immediately over. You get no chance to mortgage or sell off anything you own. E.g. If on your turn you land on a square that says you need to pay income tax and you don't have enough there and then, the game ends. I'd definitely recommend this game for people who love Monopoly but don't like how it can sometimes go on indefinitely, or people who don't quite like the original Monopoly and are looking for a different or more interesting take on it.

This is straight up awful. I'm glad this got unlisted so no one else has to suffer like me!
Several walls of text to read and yet left to flounder with no tutorial, detailed comparisons or tooltips. Most of the hours I clocked were just testing to find out what was different. Core game itself is an excellent evolution that fixes many problems with Monopoly and makes it more fun and challenging. Problem with the digital version is a poor AI, specifically the real worth is not considered when trading. For instance, a Monopolist trades $800 to get all four transport squares ASAP and wins guaranteed... yawn. But...if you never trade, you'll have a nail biting task vs 5 AI opponents, as a C or an M. So cannot recommend, unless at a 75% discount, to get your money's worth.
simpel kan echt wel beter
The most fascinating thing about this game is not the game itself (even though I really like the difference to the "oldschool" monopoly), but the story behind it. I already spent 20 minutes just reading the background story and the origins of the idea. Very very interesting. I totally support this game! I can only recommend it, even though it is less beautiful than monopoly.
found a way to make Monopoly less fun
