Experienced on the Oculus Rift
This is a 10 minute long educational experience running on the Unreal Engine. There's only nodal teleportation. I had problems with proper height calibration (but I was still able to complete the tour). It's about Sir Edmund Hillary's Antarctic hut and exploration. It has a voice narrator. There's lots of interesting information. All the interactions are of the point and click variety. The visuals are good for a free experience. It ran fine on my 1060 GTX. I would recommend this to anyone interested in history or science. I believe this was mostly done by students at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand.

A mediocre effort, intended to run as some sort of VR demo, perhaps in a museum, as it tells you at the end that the attendant will help you take your VR headset off. While it has similarities with photorealistic VR apps like Blueplanet VR and Destinations, the graphics lack detail, and are certainly not photo realistic.. they're basic 3D models with some texturing done, but the objects need real world wear and tear, and more detail (for example there's a note on the kitchen wall about leaving the plug in the sink, and yet the sinks, as rendered in the game, have no drains at all). Lighting is very simple and feels like you're in a film studio. You can only navigate to the set points, and only when it wants you to do so. There are 3 or 4 interactive objects, but again, they're only interactive when the game wants you to use them. After you first enter the hut, a 2D video of a person (Edmund Hillary's son) speaking to you appears, and I assumed it would follow me around, but that's the only time it has video - the remaining 9 minutes are voice only. I would have liked the ability to move around within the confines of the hut. You do have freedom of movement via steam VR playspace, but that's going to be very limiting for most people. Given that it seems to have been built for use in a museum where users may be seeing VR for the first time, it was probably an intentional design decision to only allow movement when the scripting called for it. I would also have liked more interactivity, for example being able to open cupboards, pick up items on the shelves, and maybe open a window. The start screen positions you on an area that's supposed to look like antarctica, but you can see the square edges of the area , so the immersion is quickly lost. Overall... well, it's free, so you get what you pay for. I'm going to tick "yes" - recommended, because there's no option for "maybe", and I did learn some new things, so I can't justify ticking no.

My dad loved it too.
It's free and does what it says on the tin. It's a bit low detail but nothing to complain about. One change that would be nice: This was clearly made for some kind of in-person demo since the end tells you to wait for an attendant to take your headset. Instead, it would have been nice if all the teleportation zones opened up and the player was allowed to free roam around for the desktop version.
On rails tour of the hut they used in the 50s to do research in the Antarctic. Short experience with a few cool tidbits about the exploration, some cool real old footage, but not much else. Its 10 min, and obviously meant as an experience in a Museum or gallery, because the ending tells me "an assistant will help you with the headset..." So, for a free educational experience, is totally recommendable if you are at least a bit interested in the topic.
