I thought Valve had made a follow-up VR game about Vikings and made it free to play. Instead, I learned more than I ever wanted to know about water pressure, valves, pipes, sprinkler systems, fire sensors, and fire safety. Guess now I have a backup plan in case I ever lose my law license.

I'm very disappointed. There were no Vikings in this game! Although now i can operate a fire suppression system...
A little clunky on the UI side, but makes up for it with great and interesting content if you enjoy valves and hydrology. I wish there were more cool plumbing experiences on Steam!
Before I played Virtual Viking, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
Virtual Viking is free VR "immersive training that will enable you to increase your familiarity with Viking valve systems. Experience various industry standard fire protection systems in operation during a building fire. Further discover these systems through observations and guided interactive learning." It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok sounded ok. Try this if you are a safety supervisor or fire protection systems technician in a company using Viking Fire Protection system.

"Virtual Viking" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, "Virtual Viking" is a software application that provides training in the operation and maintenance of valves (no, not Valve, valves) from the Viking Group. These valves are used in the fire protection systems of buildings. If I find out that the person in charge of fire safety in my building learned all there is to know from Steam, I'm running outside and never setting foot in that building again. Comically, this is abandoned Early Access software, too... so it probably won't even teach you everything you need to know about the valves. If this is a sign of things to come in the future, we're all doomed. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and software which isn't a game. It seems this software published incorrectly as a game is simply lack of experience/knowledge of the correct process. Here's a link for the process to publish non-game software on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a software application being published in the wrong place. Publishing things which aren't games on Steam in the Games section as games is misleading to gamers and somewhat harmful, because it pollutes the Steam marketplace and takes away visibility and market exposure for genuine game developers who do the right thing and make games for gamers. There are no gameplay loops in this software, no "gameplay", no meaningful game like interaction. It's a software application and as such has no merits as a video game for gamers. Because of this, I cannot recommend this non-game software as a game to gamers.
Seems like half of the dry pipe modules don't work. Won't let me click highlighted item
Komentarz + translator. Comment + translator. It's a virtual experience not a game, and it's in beta form. And basically a very cool manual for service technicians - industrial fire protection systems. Six times every three hours, it happened that the valve/key stopped working and I had to go to the main menu. Once in the "dry" in any of the courses, I finished the level, without closing one of the valves that I should close, someone probably missed it. The interaction is weak, we click on what will be highlighted, and it is only after listening to the whole hint, not faster. We use the wrench by applying it, later by spinning your hand in the air (after releasing the key). You press your hand on the joystick, as if we wanted to catch and twist something, results in the menu being turned on. The game does not have a teleport, which is bad when the valves are already in the real wall (you need to move the center point from the oculus menu). There is great potential here. You can make an amazing VR game out of it, where we "really" service devices where we can make a mistake. Where these valves need to turn slowly, just a little, or at the right pressure (according to audio comments). Where we can do something wrong, spoil something. My rating is 5/10 for getting it for free, +1 for the idea, +1 for graphics. -1 too unintuitive menu and no buttons (e.g. scrolling through completed courses). Which is very not cool, especially as the level breaks, we have to get out of it and it can not be repeated again. -1 for errors, eg a tutorial that turned on me with 5 times and I had to do it. So that I do not cancel the levels that I chose, and to which I could not return. Which gives us 5/10. "The game" is very interesting, allows you to get a good know the operation of these installations, controlled by water, air and electricity. I highly recommend it, even if the understanding of technical installations overwhelms you. I think just watching the fire simulation (and switching on the different types of fire extinguishing systems) is interesting. edit: The game save file, for me takes 1.2 GB - it takes one point for this game, from the result above. Mimo wszystko bardzo polecam. Przez ogrom wiedzy i ciekawostek. After all, I highly recommend it. Through the enormity of knowledge and curiosities.
