Despite the green check, controller support for Steam Controller/Steam Deck is really poor. There's an official configuration ... and it's awful. Sluggish, obnoxious dead-zone correction (even with it set to 0% in-game settings for some reason), etc. No good. Play this way and you'd be depending entirely on the auto-aim. No problem right? The big advantage of Steam Controller is its trackball-mouse mode. I'll just use that to aim. Nope. If you combine game controller inputs with emulated mouse inputs, the game completely chokes. Why? Unplayable in that mode. So I switched back to the official control scheme and tried messing with the in-game settings to make it bearable, but I just couldn't. So thumbs-down for me on steamdeck. (If you've got one of those weirdo gamer keyboards with the built-in thumb-stick, I'm pretty sure that won't work in this game either.)

it was a great game. but im wondering if there are any updates? because if not then honestly that would be sad for such a good game. it was immersive, and fun

Regular stages are quite fun but the boss design brings this down hard. The boss encounters having the common "wait for the boss to be vulnerable to attack" brings down the quick forward movement of the non-boss stages. Normally that wouldn't be a big deal but it clashes so badly with the regular stages.
