It crashes. The problem with the "Debug report" is known (see forums here on steam and on Big Fish Games), however it is not fixed.
unplayable garbage
Good HOG with a really interesting story, good narration, likeable protagonist and a two layer help system that I didn't see in any HOG before (soft help in HOG scenes and hard help). The bonus chapter is not worth your while, the puzzles get obscure and convoluted and the story of that part is 'Meh' at best. In a transition scene in the bonus chapter I double clicked which led to a crash and loss of my profile and save data. So thats a possible snag in this game. But I was almost done with that part of the game and it was so bad in contrast to the main story that I didn't really care. My rating 7/10, recommended as one of the better HOGs on steam.
Pretty neat game for what it is. I enjoyed playing it for an evening. Interesting concept and story. None of the puzzles were obnoxious and the hidden object scenes were satisfying and felt like they had a purpose. Just one warning: Don't use the spray can when you think you should in the beginning chapter of the game in Chicago. It was missing for me later and I was stuck without it. Had to use a hint telling me to use something I didn't have. That was the only issue I encountered though.
A pretty standard Hidden Object Game (HOG), which has everything that you would expect: its own brand of logic, female protagonist, a mixture of puzzle types, and a serviceable story. While the story and the idea of looking back in time at a similar crime spree was a good idea, I did not like how you were just dump straight into the gameplay without a real introduction. There was an intro movie, but it did not really look story related. I did find some of the drawings in the HOG sections to be a bit difficult to figure out what they were, but on the whole it was good. There were quite a lot of dream catchers around the place that allow you to get hints, but I found it annoyingly too easy to click on Angelica's avatar to activate the hint. I accidentally did that a couple of times, so no chance of getting the achievement of playing without hints! If you still want more help than the hints give you, there is also a comprehensive strategy guide that is a full walkthrough. I don't know if it gives tips for solving the puzzles, as I didn't want to get spoiled by looking. I would recommend this to adult fans of the HOG genre, but not as a first game of this genre. There were a few places where I instinctively knew where to go next simply because I am used to HOG logic. I should note that I had no problems with crashing, even on a multi-monitor setup and accidentally putting my computer into sleep mode while the game was still running. I also did not ever get lost and require a map like some other people did.
Good adventure/hidden object game. This one actually has a story line compared to some others. Nice quick game that doesn't take too long to finish.
Well Angelica Weaver and the Catch Me When you Can game is pretty much another one of the many many HOGs(Hidden Object Games) available on Steam and although most of the HOGs are pretty much the same with a variety of different puzzles along with the basic Hidden Object puzzles Angelica added in a few new types of puzzles that perhaps many have not seen yet or tried yet and that adds a little extra fun to the game but in the end,its just another HOG with plenty of backtracking and items to find which needs to be combined with other objects to make it one item to fit into the game, These become quite obnoxious after a while and it feels more like a grind then a game and it becomes frusturating at times and its worse when the player gets stuck and cant figure out something or figure out where to go as theres so many backtracking options it get repetitive after too much, and like most other games of this type Angelica Weaver is not much different as players will get stuck and frusturated while trying to figure out a puzzle and thank god there is a guide built into the game and it allows the player to move on when they get stuck and it helps alleviate the aggravation of being lost or confused, The story is kinda difficult to follow as this particular game takes the player from the modern day back to the year 1888 and into London England through Angelicas special abilities to see things from the past and this could become difficult for players to figure out and keep track of, The game is overall very enjoyable and if these type games are your liking then by all means give it a try as it will give the player at least 7-9 hours of fun gaming and there are lots of side quests and objects to collect throughout the game which adds a little extra to the play, There is also extra games included if the player succeeds in completing all requests required to play the extra added bonus games and that too makes the game a must play....
