On one hand, Anetona is pretty much a Stock RPGMaker Assets game, but for iFAction Game Maker instead of RPGMaker. On the other... well, there actually aren't even a fraction as many generic iFAction Game Maker games out there, at least in my experience, so it was novel. Unfortunately, it was also just a bad platformer, complete with janked controls and enemies/traps that were either unchallenging or instant death, with nothing in between. Some Kaizo-style things can be like that, but generally those have tighter controls, and less of an emphasis on getting enemies stuck on terrain and then laughing at them. Not really sure what to say about this one, beyond "not recommended." I haven't played any other iFAction Game Maker platformers that I know of, to know whether the problems I had stemmed more from the developer or the engine, but it was generally not a great experience, and there are a lot of great platformers and some of them even have RPG elements, too. (Note: I've actually beaten Anetona about four times, I'd estimate it takes about 25-30 minutes if you just succeed at everything, and probably somewhere in the 60-120 minute range if it's your first time playing through, depending on how much trouble you have getting through stages. However, until patch 1.1 the launcher didn't work for me and I had to launch it outside of Steam, so my playtime isn't recorded.)

There's real potential for this to be something special. I like what little I've seen. It does everything it says on the tin. I just can't give a fair appraisal, or log any serious game time with the controls as they are. Remapping, or even better, controller support is sorely needed. I really tried, I just can't get the hang of movement on the arrow keys, and actions spread across the width of the keyboard. And I'm no stranger to playing cross-armed. Much love to Syukino, and I honestly look forward to revising this 'review' in the future. A thumbs up for all things considered, and a hearty 'suggested' to those more ambidextrous than myself.
Super difficult - but made that way. More 'another go' than 'frustrating' - but still kind of infuriating once you start being shot by a battling gun from a helicopter whilst armed with a sword... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4pflU0AyqM

Anetona is a 2d hack'n'slash with plateform made with strong rpg maker inspiration and design with a bad gameplay and rude control for a really too high difficulty in the game, even in the beginning. Graphics (5 / 10) : This part is ok, the 2d graphics are ok, not really good, but correct, this look really like a rpg maker game. Gameplay (2.5 / 10) : Absoluty garbage, no gamepad control, that a shame for this type of game, a bad tutorial (and not really a tutorial, just some ''tip'' sometimes), and a really TOO HIGH DIFFICULTY, in the first scene some obstacle some obstacle could insta-kill you, that take me 5 try to go to the second scene, just to be kill by sort of ghost that kill you in 2 or 3 hits, and each time you died you go to the first scene, over and over; and of course there no passive hp regen. So for the dev if you watch this please add a true tutorial / gamepad control / hp regen and more checkpoint, just reduce the difficulty at last in the beginner levels. Price (3 / 10) : Don't really know about the game live, but for this type of game 1 or 2 euros will be ok ... But actually cost 6 euros. And gamepad couldn't be use ... With all problem list before the game is overpriced. Story/Music/Optimisation (4/10) : Classic story, but i think the difficulty just made the story skippable, so at the final we don't really care about the history The Music is ok, correct but not perfect. Nothing to say for optimisation, fluid and no problem with freeze (played on a i5, 2Go VRAM and 8Go RAM), also with rpg maker design that will be a shame that the game will not be optimised ... Final Note (3.6 / 10) : Anetona is not really good in is actual form, i think the dev work hard in this game, but the control and difficulty ruin everything, and the price don't help. I was quite dissapointed about this game, i quite like hack'n'slash and plateform, and the mix could have be good, but the magic don't take here ... + : - Good optimisation - RPG system - : - No gamepad control - Bad gameplay - Really to high difficulty - No true tutorial - High price for what we have actually
