It's 1999 and your friend sends you a floppy disk, titled "RemBo". It turns out to be the installer for an old BBS service, filled with both strangers and a familiar face. How are you going to use it?

I mean, It's okay, I guess
While this game may be buggy in a few places, Anachronism is a very heartfelt little game with lovely pace and humour. As a lot of other people have mentioned, the sounds are incredibly nostalgic, or even just enjoyable as nice background noise if you're like me and were a little too young (or nonexistent) to actually use one of these computers as a young adult. The smaller details are, imo, what make this game what it is - which is a fantastic little short full of keyboard clacking and more-than-halfway-believable teenage/young adults talk (note: it's not nsfw, I just mean when you're younger and still looking sideways at a big strange future ahead of you). I got the good ending and can't speak for any of the others, but if you have a little patience with the small handful of bugs and occasional spelling mistakes, this game is more than worth the price. Come on, it's under a pound!!

decent game, but its very slow and every once in a while has a typo or bug that ruins the immersion for me. timestamps are often wrong and the userlist is inconsistent at best. would work much better with some bugfixing.
"Anachronism\>" is a basic text adventure/interactive novel trying to look like a retro "BBS" experience but comes across as completely inauthentic. Like the developer wants you to think you "install" a BBS. Tell us you have no idea what a BBS is without actually saying it. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. I know in this case it's deliberate, but they could have done better. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $1 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
Short but fun game that takes place in 1999 where you get a floppy disk and require a command to access to it (you dont type it but its cool seeing it). Here in this game you are involved in a chat room talking to people. How you respond will have its results. There are no wrong answers. Its worth trying out if you dont got anything to do.
