During the exorcism, you will have conversations with both the demon and, when it allows her to speak, Erin herself. Through these dialogues and by solving puzzles in the environment, you will work to uncover the mystery of how the demon was summoned and why it has attached itself to her.
Your goal is to piece together these clues to discover the demon's true name and learn the method to banish it from Erin for good.

I saw this game from a Youtube video made by Insym and thought "I have to get it, no spoilers" because a pure exorcism game without hunting for ghosts or anomolies or playing as a defenceless person sounded like a refresher in this genre. Instead I was met with a lack of any direction, no way of telling what to do without watching someone else play the game, no threat of any kind (deliberatly tried dying and nothing happened), repeatitive lines despite being voiced by a streamer I recognize (I heard the code so much I can recite it), and the puzzles made no sense to me because it did not provide enough context. Overall, I feel as if I made a disappoined purchase and hope the game goes through a major revision because the premise itself is an amazing idea.
"It’s essentially an escape-room horror game with an exorcism theme. It’s short, contains bugs, and relies on the same jump scare repeatedly. However, the atmosphere is very immersive, and figuring out and banishing the demon remains fun even on replays. Fans of the genre should also check out the other dev's games and very good The Mortuary Assistant.” Verdict: Decent 🐭 Watch the pure uninterrupted gameplay video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNiC1nZR66I For more concise reviews and recommendations please follow my curator.
An Exorcism is a first-person atmospheric horror game where you play as a reverend tasked with saving a possessed woman named Erin. Using holy tools, environmental clues, and investigation, you attempt to uncover the demon’s origin and perform an exorcism to banish it. Pros ✔️ The core idea is solid – The premise of actively performing an exorcism, rather than just surviving one, is genuinely interesting. ✔️ Environmental clues are handled well – There are multiple hints and details in the space that help you piece things together instead of outright telling you what to do. ✔️ Builds tension without relying only on jump scares – It manages to be unsettling in quieter ways, which I appreciated. Cons ❌ It’s still rough at this stage – A lot of the systems feel unfinished or unpolished. ❌ Some mechanics are too subtle for their own good – Interactions don’t always communicate clearly, which makes progression feel unclear rather than mysterious. ❌ Item interactions were buggy – Some tools simply didn’t work as intended during my playthrough, even though they worked fine on another account. Conclusion I really wanted to like this more than I did. There’s a good idea here, and I can absolutely see why some people love it, but the technical issues made it hard for me to enjoy. It feels less like a finished release and more like something still in that final testing or early-access phase. I don’t think it’s a lost cause at all — it just needs more time to cook. I’d actually like to come back to it later and see how it’s improved, because I think there is something worth salvaging here. Score 4/10 Broken Rituals — A strong concept held back by rough execution (for now).
Another fun one from Authogin! It has its problems but I overall really enjoyed it. It was the first game to ever actually make me scream from a jumpscare, so thats a good sign LMAO. However, the jumpscares do get very repetitive and stopped effecting me after some time - I think some variety in the type of jumpscares could be beneficial to keep the scares/tensity up. It has cool atmosphere and decent graphics & the puzzles are fun. I dont understand why people are complaining about the lack of direction the game gives you.. its all very self explanitory if you use your brain and the tablet that has hints on it. I will say that the items (bell, holy water etc) are a little deceptive, I thought they would be needed throughout the gameplay to interact with the demon and get hints, but they are actually for the final act only, but I managed to work that out eventually. It is more like an escape room-esque game where you need to search your surroundings and work out puzzles before performing the exorcism at the very end of the game. I liked deciphering the ,messages and working out how the security things worked etc. There is some replayability in this game as there are different demons each time, so you need to use different items to fight the demon at the end, however I believe the spawns for items and the messages on the walls remain the same each time? Which does make it less interesting. I might be mistaken and just had bad RNG tho! The game did crash for me twice, but thankfully it was at the start of the game and I hadn't made any actual progress. Despite its issues I had a fun time playing it, and my community also enjoyed watching it and helping out. I think that the negatives things I pointed out could deffo be smoothed over with future updates. If you don't want to play a game where you have to use your brain & think outside the box then it isn't for you - That doesn't mean its a bad game... it literally says "challenging puzzles" in the description ;)
Still getting crashes during the exorcism when she floats. :/ Edit: Changing my review to positive as the core gameplay is phenomenal! Dev replied quickly about the bug, so I'm in! Streaming this tonight on tiktok @rippedgeek xoxoxo
Spent all this time playing the game only for the exorcism to bug and kick me out... The game also bugged out not letting me into the spare room once I got the blue key. It was as I never had the key and was soft locked without even knowing it. On top of that, there is no option to save so I am forced to start the game all over. I'll change my vote if this gets fixed but for now, I can't recommend this game. Looks good, no clear direction on what to do, repetitive jump scares, and buggy. Looking forward to seeing how the game progresses.
What a FUN game! Think “Escape Room” combined with “Horror”, where you need to figure out different puzzles to open new sections and complete the exorcism. It took me two hours to complete the game, and every moment was full of screams and my last brain cell working overtime. The graphics, clues, atmosphere, and voice acting were astounding. There was one part where I heard the MOST REALISTIC thunder ever, in any of the games I’ve played. And I did see some reviews mention repetitive jumpscares, but I will say, I fell for them every. single. time. I also see the dev has been updating the game with several patches, which is wonderful. And there are plenty of accessibility settings which made this game extra enjoyable and perfect for streaming and viewership, thank you! Some feedback I do have (slight spoilers ahead, please beware): ~ I never figured out how to use the incense properly. I thought by putting it in the tray at the table was enough, realized in a friend’s stream that I needed to first put it in the table and then go put it in the chair and use the lighter to activate it. Maybe a small visual tutorial could help with this? ~
There were some things, such as having to move the pillow, that took quite a while to understand (like someone else said, interaction is too subtle). Maybe adding an outline or “suggestion” after some time might help.
~
I didn’t know the security lights were for a security box, figured it out after a while (after having completed the light puzzle, so the box was open, I just didn’t know it was a box so I didn’t even think about opening it). Maybe adding a little “lock” sign when locked could help clear that up.
~ Game crashed within 10 minutes, didn’t have any issues after that (it happened while I was still trying to figure out what was in the suitcase, so I didn’t lose any time) TLDR; Amazing game, great atmosphere, jumpscares were repetitive but got me every time anyway, great accessibility. Some feedback for continuity and interactions but everything was great overall. Would definitely recommend!
At first, this game sounded a little like The Mortuary Assistant, and admittedly it kept feeling like it too for a while. "The atmosphere is great, setting is creepy, puzzles will keep you occupied and will lower your guard while the jumpscares sprinkled into the mix here and there will scare your socks off! On top of it, seemingly the game has some replay value with different demons, random scares and paranormal events! Kind of like Visage maybe? That sounds great!" Is what I thought going into this game. Realistically, this is just a glorified escape room. Sure, the puzzles are alright but that's all the game has to offer really, because first of all - there's practically nothing you have to worry about, no time limit (thank god) or resource management, you can just throw in as much incense at the demon as you wish, and apparently the more you do it the lesser of an effect it's going to have, but in my experience it hardly ever did anything anyway. Secondly, the [strike] jumpscares [/strike] or, excuse my language... The ONE FU*KING jumpscare in the whole game, which gets thrown around left and right so often it started to legitimately piss me off. The first time it happened, it was great! The next 72 times in the span of 2h? Not so much, to the surprise of absolutely no one! At one point even the demon itself must have realised how obnoxious it was and bugged the game out to the point where the jumpscare followed by the .png scary spooky face would not even trigger anymore, and the fool would just stand there like an idiot looking at me in silence. And you know what? That somehow made it more creepy sometimes. All of a sudden I got reminded of some of those more subtle scares from Mortuary Assistant, where you might just miss some of them, and perhaps you only just notice something move in the corner of your eye, except here this is more scuffed, and was never the intention. Sadly enough for me, I got a little stumped with one puzzle, couldn't find something, was getting bored walking around aimlessly, no real threat in sight, and one stupid jumpscare away from ALT+F4'ing, and when it finally happened - I didn't desire to ever look back at this game. Wasted potential in my opinion.
I loved it. The dev fixed the issue with the crashing pretty quick. Solid game.
its just so hard to know what to do
