I am deeply in love with this game. Sure, I've been following Frictional's work since I first watched clip compilations of Amnesia: The Dark Descent back in 2012, so I may be a little biased. But it really says something that I feel a humongous amount of dread trying to convince myself to play this game when I can boot up The Dark Descent and not feel any fear. I just got a new QD-OLED 1440p monitor as well, and the difference between my first playthrough on an LED 1080p monitor and this attempt at a replay, is staggering. It's the true test of survival, and of how you handle the omnipotent human fear of the unknown - one that doesn't overstay its welcome. If you give this game a shot and really feel dissuaded by just how petrifying it is, watching other people play it is another medium of digestion I'd recommend to you. I still haven't finished Alien: Isolation, but until that happens and my decision is made, I'll keep telling people this is the scariest game I have ever played. Because the terror really can't be understated.

very scary. a little shorter than i'd like but still incredible value when on sale.
Historically pretty accurate, sound design is great, monster is terrifying and it doesn't feel overwhelming to explore too much
