OMG TIS IS LITERAL THE BEST GAME EVR MADE BLYAT CYKA I LOVE IT!!!! I WAS GIFTED DIS BY MI FRIEND ON STEAM AND I LOVE IT!!! THANK SO MUCH BLUE00?!!!!
Boring uninteresting asset flip - 2/10 The developer only dumps asset flips onto the steam store which are way overpriced and garbage. This game is not as bad as the other one I've played from this developer, it can be interesting for a few minutes. You start on a cartoonish map and you have to collect lemons by walking over them before the time runs out, there are multiple maps and it gets a bit harder every time. This is definitely not worth any money maybe for a few cents. For 8,99 this is pretty much robbery. Deciding whether or not I recommend this game was as difficult as picking the red pill or the blue pill. On one hand, it is a cinematic masterpiece grossly undervalued at the low price of $10. This game gave me the immaculate brain power to solve world hunger. I think with more players, we have the potential to solve racism and homophobia as well. According to Prezi, the archetype for yellow represents, "sunny, cheerful, joyous, happy, excited, inspired, creative". Having collected thousands of yellow lemons, I can confirm these are the feelings I truly feel throughout the gameplay. (Just wait until you get to the BIG lemons). But on the other hand, the game is far too short. I pity anyone who feels the same positive sensations just to discover, like myself, that it is so short lived. I strive for the same emotional high that I felt the first time playing "Amazeing Lemons", but each replay numbs my feelings and eyes to the color yellow more and more. overall 11/10
SHORT REVIEW
Amazeing Lemons offers you basically what you'd expect from the cringe-worthy bad-grammar pun in the game's title: pre-defined mazes in which you walk around and pick up lemons. And that's it. The game is played using typical FPS controls: WASD to move around and space to jump, with mouse look. Each maze has a short starting time limit, which can be extended by one minute for each darker-looking lemon (oranges, apparently) that you pick up. I don't know how many mazes there are, but it seems like there are six, based on the game's files. Each one is pre-defined with a given number of lemons and time limit. Presentation is simple, but quite nice, with cartoon-like graphics and simple textures. There's a pleasant, but repetitive, music loop, but no volume adjustment. There are no graphics settings. It has a few small problems, but nothing too serious. The game takes up the better part of a 1 GB of HD space and has a very long load time for the content provided; I think it took more than a minute on my hybrid drive to load the main menu and start the game. The timer displays times in a weird fashion, with "1:10" meaning one minute and ten seconds remaining as you'd expect, but changing to "1:9" after one second, rather than "1:09" as it should; I suspect the developer couldn't work out how to format the seconds with a preceding "0". It also displays the "Game Over" screen a second or two before it should. Browsing the game files is quite interesting, as you can modify various aspects of the game via its Lua scripts.
PROS AND CONS
Pros: + Simple, but pleasant, music loop + Graphics aren't horrible + Easily 'hackable' through scripts, if you're interested in that sort thing Cons: - Very simple gameplay - Limited replayability - Big with long load times - No Steam integration
CONCLUSION
There's very little to the game, and certainly not enough to warrant its asking price. Without trading cards or achievements even people after those things should look elsewhere. I couldn't bring myself to play more than the first level, but I did play with the Lua scripts for a bit.
The closest description would be like: first person Pacman without ghosts. There is maze. There are lemons. "A-maze"ing lemons. Very honest, much wow. Considering how much they ask for this asset flip, it's ridiculous. You're basically paying for a GameGuru template and a dozen models. If you ended up owning it, you can imagine you're playing yet another trolldev and lemons are negative reviews that you must read. It actually would be more amusing, lol.
I tend to really enjoy walking simulators. I don't get out much,so sometimes a walk through a nice digital environment is just what I need. I got a 90% off coupon for this, and figured I'd give it a go. There's no story, you just walk around collecting lemons and oranges...with a STRICT time limit. You start with very little time on the clock, oranges give extra time, but there aren't many in each level, and there are HUNDREDS of lemons to get. Later levels have even fewer oranges,so you really need to be thorough and avoid backtracking. Unfortunately, lemon placement tends to be erratic, some levels they're in mostly linear paths, others you'll walk down a lengthy path only to find one...sometimes they'll be placed directly in front of another yellow thing, so you can't even see them...or shoved behind a rock...all the while your clock is ticking. As far as the mazes themselves, there seems to be only three styles: Village hedge-maze DAY. Village hedge-maze NIGHT. Crystal cave. ...They aren't overly complicated layouts, but because they just keep reusing the same look, they all blur together...LV3 is the exact same layout as LV1,but with a night sky...LV 2 is the unique caves, but every other level looks exactly like LV1...ya see the screenshots up there ^? That's all ya get. There are very few landmarks to keep track of...so navigating is a real pain. But no worries right? if you can't do a level in time, you'll just reload your save and try again...right? WRONG. THERE IS NO SAVE! If you fail any level it's back to the main menu and LEVEL 1 for you!!! With considerable determination,I made it as far as level 6,looking at game files there may only be 6 levels [but I don't really know what i'm looking at, so don't quote me on that.] I couldn't find any oranges on lv6, and my sanity died completely...I don't have the will to try anymore. As almost an afterthought I should also mention...while the music is fine at first, it gets maddening after a while...and the load times of the levels are quite long. Even though there doesn't seem to be many levels, they take quite a bit of time to complete,so the lack of save is totally unreasonable...and so is this price! $10.99? I may like walking simulators, but I never would have paid that much for this! as is,even my 90% discount feels like I paid too much. This certainly isn't a relaxing walk, and it's rough time limit isn't rewarding...the lack of save...the price...the copied over and over levels...yeah...this game's a LEMON alright.
