Lost Valley of the Frog King

I have always enjoyed James Smart's games and this is no exception. I beta tested The Cursed Oasis for him and that was a blast! I will say up front that he didn't ask me to do this review nor have I ever received any freebies. This is a walking simulator/boys own adventure as you try to find multiple collectables. Lots of walking as you try to find 10 orbs, or 10 temples or fairy rings etc in each level. And let me tell you, some of the objects are hidden in some very sneaky positions!! So quite a bit of patience is required as you try to track the artefacts down. The graphics are colourful, but fairly basic. The music score and sound effects were exceptional from composer Nicholas Singer. There are multiple environments and lots of surprises around every corner. Be sure to check all the caves and walk through waterfalls. I didn't encounter any bugs. A few warnings: There is no save mid level. Any collectables that you found will not be saved, but achievements are not lost. Secondly, your character moves very fast and there is a slight head bob. The tunnel area was the worst for me as you weave in and out, but in other environments I was ok. If you are looking for a chill, easy scavenger hunt game to play with interesting environments and cool music, then this is the game for you! Price is minimal and the dev is very active. Enjoy!

한글화 X / 도전과제 O /트레이딩 카드 X 미지의 섬을 발견하여 탐험해보며 화면 오른쪽 위에 표시되는 개구리 신사, 길잡이 돌 등을 찾는 게임~ 다양한 맵이 준비되어 있으며 풍경이 예쁘고 생각외로 맵이 제법 커서 길치에게는 난이도가 약간 있음,,,, 특히나 맵별로 저장이 되기 때문에 요구되는 수집품을 다 찾지 않고 끌 경우 맵 처음부터 다시 시작해야 되고, 2번째 맵이 특히 구석으로 가려다 끼이는 경우가 많네요 ㅠ 저는 2번째 맵에서 여러번 시도했으나 개구리 신사 하나를 못 찾아서 스토리를 다 못봐서 아쉽네요 그래도 추천합니당 bb

Nice walking sim. Nice Dev. Nice game all round!

Es ist ein ziemlich langer Walking Sim mit Plattformer-Elementen. Für 2 Taler völlig fein, auch wenn ich kein Fan davon bin, dass man an jedem Grashalm hängen bleibt oder oft von einem Felsvorsprung glitcht. Leider ist der Respawn mit "R" immer am Anfang des Levels und gerade in den Labyrinthen wird es dann extrem anstrengend die letzte Position zu finden, um weiter nach den Steinchen zu suchen. Es gibt auch ne kleine Story, die in wenigen Sätzen erwähnt wird. Ganz nett gemacht und für den Preis top^^

Was a nice game however there were definitely some annoyances with it; not having any settings was pretty bad especially with how loud the game opened up at (you have to use windows volume mixer if you want to lower it) The game was also just extremely repetitive not just the things your collecting but the biomes as well it was more just making it harder and harder to see. But overall it was an ok experience as the areas were genuinely quite pretty Id say 6/10.
