I love this game so much!
the most hard game ever
On the outset, two teenagers getting into a motorcycle accident with no protective gear and living with minor injuries and some selective amnesia is the most interesting thing that happens in this game. I remember playing the demo for this when the only games I owned for the computer were The Sims 3, Ella's Hope, and Cute Knight. This was very clear in my mind from back in the day where English Otome game's for teenage girls were mostly limited to free flash games from the 2010s. This game is most certainly a relic of that time. Story wise, the premise of an amnesiac boyfriend forgetting about you and essentially having the option to just date from the harem of men around you is a very dramatic set up, but the story itself isn't particularly dramatic. It's fairly one-note and fluffy, with the expected tropes of a materialistic ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ex getting in the way of the main love interest along with his disapproving father plotting on your downfall. This game could probably have benefited from choosing to nix the raising sim elements in favor for the dating sim focus and just expanding on these story concepts. As it stands, this plays more similarly to a free flash dating sim than a paid experience, and admittedly I'd rate it below a number of free flash dating sims(I think I enjoyed a majority of the Pacthesis games over this). The story feels like various drabbles that kind of have an overarching theme(helping your boyfriend recover memories or stumbling across your shy coworker in places you don't expect) that don't typically amount to much except a flashforward happily ever after of sorts. Gameplay wise, this is very much a grind simulator. It has some very simple management mechanics and the illusion of a raising sim that doesn't really effect much outside of maxing out a stat to get the special endings for characters. The harder modes don't do much outside of making the process of getting these endings a bit more tedious as a result of the rng(specifically, the likelihood of the activity you choose during time brackets succeeding or failing) being less in your favor the higher the chosen difficulty level. While the design philosophy of this makes sense, theoretically, the gameplay loop is quite simple once you get the hang of it and the increased difficulty only serves to slow the game down. Of course, this can all just be surmounted by save scumming the game, since the difficulty is purely in the chance it boils down to how much time your willing or want to spend repeating the same tasks for a smidgen of unseen dialogue. I wouldn't recommend this game unless you're interested in playing it for nostalgia purposes. As it stands, there are plenty of older and more modern games, even free ones both here on steam as well as on Itch.io, that are of significantly higher quality than this one.
Fun to play, didn't knew there were 2 endings for each character so gotta continue
I recently went back and finished this dating sim from a 5 year hiatus. I actually first started playing this when I had tendonitis so bad I couldn't play video games anymore until I healed, and I was using Dragon Naturally Speaking at the time, telling the computer where on the screen I wanted to click. I had gotten the endings of only one of the boyfriends at the time, and got close to the second before I started feeling better and starting playing games with my hands again. This game works great on a touchscreen too btw. Anyway, its a pretty standard dating sim/ life sim. You spend each day of the summer working in the ice cream shop, visiting the boyfriend you are trying to win over, and doing activities to raise your stats. Each of the 4 boyfriends have a specific stat you need at 100% to get the best ending. There are 8 achievments, 1 for each regular ending and 1 for each perfect ending. I found the story engaging with each of the boyfriends.
Iv'e played multiple Otome/dating sims/VN and never in my life have had to spend so much time being nickle and dimed to raise stats as horrendously as i have in this game. I eventually gave up on new game plays and started restarting and saving each day every time the stat correlating to that character went up. *Warning attempting to raise your f-ing creativity stat is like being raw dogged without lube.
While maybe not the best dating game out there, I do enjoy the fact that it's more of an open ended world like the flash dating games of old instead of a click-through story like most visual novel dating games are. I enjoy this game for what it gives. Simple entertainment. My problem is I'm too petty of a person to ever date anyone but Aaron. As stereotypical as the story can feel, I just can't willing let some Abigail chick steal my boyfriend just because he forgot me. I'd recommend it if you really enjoy sim dating games - especially the flash games. It has an incredibly similar vibe.
Game Tittle : Always Remember Me Game Type : Visual Novel, Dating Simulation Gameplay : Easy Accessibilty (just clicking here and there and enjoy the story), not many variety to offer but for a visual novel type of game, it's average. It could easily be too repetitive and in some aspect to achieve something the percentage of getting it is just too little (i spent 2 days doing the same 'practice writing' and somehow not getting ONE creativity :o ) Graphic and Design : Cute and nicely drawn character and chibi. A little to girly (but mostly because it's targeted for female player). Nicely drawn background though in some place it kinda felt to sketchy. Sound and Music : the music great. it fit with the teenage girls love story theme. I play it for quite a while but the song's a little late to get to me (might gonna put it on my music list) Storyline : It's cheesy and quite chlice ish. normal teenage girls drama you see. especially one with amnesia and stuff. but by putting it in front of the story make it entertaining i guess. felt rushed, and to be able to get close with the character without consequences make it less relevant to its player in my opinion. (its like we have to target one of the character and just get close to them since day 1). but the game's already out since 10 years ago :/. 7.9/10
I love this game before when I played it years ago and I still love it playing it again on Steam today. This game is a nice and relaxing Visual Novel I recommend to all VN lovers.
