GAMEPLAY: The gameplay is very simple. It's just a clicking game, so no special skills needed there. STORYLINE: There are several storylines that changes with each playthrough which is nice. Each story is very short though. I've so far managed to get 3 different endings within only approximately 5 hours, where I took my sweet good time with every single storyline. So if you're expecting several hundreds of hours of gameplay, then you'll get disappointed. There are 8 (I think) different endings depending on which choices you make during your game and half of them are romantic endings. GRAPHICS: The graphics are like any other visual novel out there. The drawings are sorta cute if not extremely cartoony at times (which I guess is the point, so yeah! They succeeded!) MUSIC: The music score is very important to me, since I do enjoy amazing movie and game scores. However, the music from this doesn't really fit my personal tastes. It gets very repetitve very quickly, which kinda made me wanna turn off the music all together in the end. OVER-ALL: Gameplay: 6/10 Storyline: 7/10 Graphics: 8/10 Music: 2/10 Total score: 5,75/10
Tags: Adventure - VN - Visual Novel Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Quota grind to keep gauges up and secure a romantic interest. There are few events to spice things up. The romantic interests are caricatures. Always remember me has you choosing between your estranged lover whom is hospitalized and a few guys from school and work. You choose to divide your daily time slots to different activities which can build relationships with the guys and keep you stocked with money which you can spend to increase your stats. It is a timewaster and one that can hook initially but it becomes a slog hurting the replay potential and also making it hard to reocmmend, come back to, or remember fondly. Archiving in hidden library.
I love story-based, romance games like this. I did buy it when it went on sale because I felt $18-$19 is a little pricey. I finished the game with all endings in around 5 hours (the .6 is from bathroom breaks, and getting food because I wanted to finish this in one go). I got every characters endings and got all achievements and overall felt like you go through all that effort to get an ending or special ending, and the ending is only a few sentences long. For how long it takes to raise stats to 100% I feel the special endings should have been longer, or at least more exciting than they were. But, it was still fun -scripting was well written- and I enjoyed it more than I've enjoyed other "story-rich" visual novels.
It's pretty good - the replays are VERY repetitive and the protagonist can get extremely frustrating, but overall, enjoyed it.
"Always remember me" was the first ever Stats-Rising-Game I played back in the day. Then, I had purchased the game via the Winter Wolves Site and was glad to see that I could activate the game on Steam via the e-mail instead of having to repurchase it again. I'm honestly a bit torn on this one.. I think for someone completely new to Otome Games especially with a Stats-Rising aspect, this game is definitely a recommendation. Back in the day, I had been all over this game and remember being all over Hugh and Eddy and I completely adored the soundtrack! Nowadays however, with a long list of romance oriented visual novels for experience as a player, I can obviously easily spot the many things that are off or simply lackluster in this game.. The idea for the story is nice but it's more like a sidenote, the characters are lovable but lack depth, the art is nice but sometimes looks off and thanks to the strange positioning of the sprites Amy looks like a giant compared to the guys, while the CGs make it seem obvious that she is actually rather petite compared to them... Then there's also the actions to raise the stats that not always give you what they promise despite them being a success. I often found myself panicking and feeling annoyed when all I got from actions were a bit of moral and energy when I needed to hurry up to get up my stats since I only got 15 more days left.. Despite all of that and more however, I'd still like to give this game a positive review. Even if only for the nostalgia of good memories and me thinking that it is still a nice little game for those who are new to the genre. If you're looking for a game to spend some time on without needing to get into any sort of deep story or necessarily having to pay too much attention on other characters than the one you want to date, this is the game you're looking for, I suppose. Defintely a recommendation for Newbies to the Genre. Maybe a recomendation to those who want to add all Otome Games to their collection. A big nope to those who already know their way around visial novels and dating games and expect this one to be a hidden gem. EDIT: Also, not all Events line up correctly either. For example, thanks to me rarely visiting the mall I didn't get the trigger for Eddy's house at first. Meaning, I first had the event happening of them discussing the Dinner they never had together, only to then go on said dinner the next day, because I checked the locations in case I had missed something.
💋
I liked it.
The stat raising part is very annoying. I would prefer a pure visual novel without the stats crap.
I'd like this if Amy wasn't so dumb. Full review here.
