It's been a looong wait for this chapter for some of us (coming from a lad that bought the Duvet from the old Red bubble link), and while I'm excited that this chapter is finally out, it doesn't hold to the same polish as the first chapter. This doesn't mean it's a bad chapter; I enjoyed the experience. The music and voice acting is still powerful and the visuals are still eerie in a loving way. If you know the story from the first chapter, it empowers (and mildly confuses) the experience with seeing the different changes in characters. There's just a few visual jumps, audio clips that occasionally double up...and the story jumps random directions at time. I didn't find anything game breaking, which is fantastic. I would still recommend the game to those who experienced the first and enjoyed it. I would also, while not necessary, suggest you play the first chapter. Not just for story reasons, but to feel the game changes between the years. Overall, I still enjoyed this experience, and can hope that, in my life time, the last chapter comes out. Thank you for giving this Halloween a good game to play through.
good continuation of the first game. Works well for the spooky season.
it has an interesting story, though the gameplay is abit basic
I don't post reviews often: but I'm honestly mixed here? I'll give a thumbs up because for the most part, I had a good time! I would recommend it to people who've played Albino Lullaby because at some points it DOES explain a BIT; like where the grandchildren even CAME from. I'll start with the positives: The voice acting is TOP NOTCH, whoever did Buck needs so much Kudos! It really added to the anxiety/fear me and my friend had while I played, and I'm excited to see what more they do with it in the third episode! I liked the art direction, it remains the same while being new and improved, staying faithful to Albino Lullaby and now the negatives, listen, I love this game but: Good god is it FULL of bugs, ESPECIALLY in Buck's house.. if you aren't willing to have to restart to the last checkpoint and close and open the game at least ten times, then I suggest you watch a game play instead. Buck's house took me a good day to get through, because his rig or something would break and prevent him from moving around the house, leaving him in his regular idle position while slowly moving towards the player model -- i'll have to go back and see if i can recreate the bug for a video, but I noticed it would usually happen if I managed to run away from him. It DID get a bit loud at points, I don't know if it was because I was using a blue tooth connection while streaming, but we ran into a common issue of music or voice acting getting too loud for comfort, and during the Origins Ride it can be a TAD difficult to hear the Narrator speaking. In my own personal opinion, it could've used some time in the oven, some parts seemed rushed or like they had been scrapped and rebuilt multiple times.. I'm anxious to see what chapter 3 is, but with the direction this franchise seems to be taking? I DO have high hopes.
I, and many other people have waited for this game for a long time. And now, after almost ten years, it's finally here. So... Is the game worth it? I honestly don't know. I enjoyed my time with it, but the story was quite confusing. The game is quite short and a little buggy, so I wouldn't exactly say it's worth the price, but for some reason, I just can't bring myself to dislike this game. In a strange way... It's kind of beautiful. I would still recommend buying both episode 1 and 2 to support the devs, as they are very talented people. This game has been through production hell, but I still almost wish that it had been a bit longer in the oven, as long as it had frequent updates. I hope that some day, this series will get the popularity it deserves
Don't really have much to say. I love the world of Albino Lullaby and it's expanded upon beautifully here. The only issue I can think of is that the volume options didn't work. If you love twisted, psychedelic horror/fantasy, this'll be right up your alley.
A great sequel! Can't wait for the 3rd part. But be careful when playing on the Steam Deck. Had some bugs and wasn't able to finish on there.
Very good psychological horror, picks up from the 1st game just fine despite the length of time in between. The atmosphere kept me on edge through to the end. Very creepy visuals that are unique to this series.
Pretty boring. A headache because of the the person constantly talking in the game.
