About
Your master was a very good alchemist, but it is time for you to become more than an apprentice. You have improved a lot and can create potions that even your master cannot make. Finding the Philosopher's Stone is your destiny; it's the only way to see your mother again. However, this journey won't be easy. Are you still here? Show them how good an alchemist you are!
Plants, mushrooms, minerals and animal parts are the basic ingredients for creating potions. Take on apprentices and leave them to the resources to gather ingredients. Make no mistake, they will get you the best ingredients. Don't forget to give them their gold at the end of the day!

If you have the ingredients, you can make potions. Don't keep the customers waiting, get to work right away. Don't forget to use your tool cards while making potions, we'd like to see you as a master alchemist, wouldn't we?

Well, you can't do business on an empty stomach. Let's make some money. You can earn gold by selling your potions to customers. Don't forget us if you get rich, okay?

Now that you've got the money, why don't you upgrade your potion shop? You can upgrade all your tool cards and increase their production speed. Of course, if you want to produce The Philosopher's Stone, that's up to you.

Not everything is so easy, of course there are challenges. Be careful not to be harmed by bandits or wild animals. You can train your apprentices and overcome enemy cards. You can do it, right?

For me this was a cool concept, but bad implementation. I thought I was buying a chill, laid back game with crafting elements using cards. Well, that was half true, I should've done more research but there are practically zero gameplay videos out there as it's still very new This game is one giant race against the clock, lol, quite the opposite of chill. Everything happens in real time and there is precious little of it. As such, it's missing a much needed feature, an auto-pause function. I can't overstate just how important it is to pause in this game, something even the tutorial fails to teach you. So many things I feel could be improved, here's a few: DAYS/TIME Feels way too short, I think they should last at least 50% longer, minimum. ORDERS Zero indication on how much xp each is worth before completion. Money earned for completion is shown as a range, eg. 47-67g, with no indication where you're at on that scale. The only significant way to earn decent money, at least in my very limited short play. TIMERS/NOTIFICATIONS No timer for how long raw materials last before they dry out and then rot. No timer for when new orders appear, is it random? Poor notification for when new orders do come, all you get is a red dot that comes up with no sound. ENEMIES They snatch away resources almost as fast as they appear. You're given zero time to pause and react before they take something, annoying. Auto-pause, Auto-pause, Auto-pause!!! Why oh why isn't this in the game?????? If nothing else, this NEEDS to be in the game. UI Why is "New Game" under "Load Save" in the main menu? Cannot recommend as it currently is.
great concept, promising card game
A Card Game KING review
In its current iteration Alchemy Deck is a bit too simplistic but the foundations are there to build something more exciting out of it. As it stands, the gameplay revolves around gathering ingredients and combining them together into a potion to sell to patrons. Unfortunately, the combination part is fairly straightforward - just pick two ingredients that match the requested category from the order add water and sell the potion. Rinse and repeat with the only difference that over time more ingredients and locations are added to the mix. There are a few things can obstruct this process such as arsonists, rodents, bandits cards that appear and destroy stuff on your board. This does add some variety, but to me it was a frustrating one as dealing with them requires fast reflexes, something I'm not really keen on being tested on in a game that's mostly about planning and resource management. The game could also benefit from streamlining some of the processes. Selling potions feels fiddly and the board space feels claustrophobic (doesn't help that water card just scatter on the table). Having the fast forward option in the same click cycle as pause and normal speed, often means that when you want to pause the game you need to click fast forward wasting a few seconds. The game is in very early access so my expectations are align with this, but the game either needs to make the alchemy part more exciting or lean into the simplicity and get rid of the frustrating real time challenges.
The positive
+ Good foundation for a resource/time management game albeit to bare bones how.
The neutral
* Potions orders feel awkward. This comes from either all orders requiring the same traits and not getting the required ingredientw, from the uncomfortable interface for selling potions, or due to sudden requests for potions requiring special ingredients for which you were not prepared and alerted to.
The negative
- The core gameplay currently doesn't feels as compelling and quickly starts feeling repetitive. Some players might find the repetitive and straightforward decision making meditative but others may find it under stimulating. - Reflex based tests to solve negative encounters feel out of place for a game about planning.
Conclusion:
Solid foundation for a resource management game but currently lacks the oomph to be engaging for longer periods of time. Careful recommendation since the game is in very early EA, but read the patch notes before committing.
I've been waiting for this game for so long, saw this on reddit months ago and I'm impressed with the progress the devs made with the game since the demo. And i believe the dev will improve this game further with time. Kudos to the devs!
It has rich ideas for a card game and core gameplay is fun. As an early access game, there are some issues mostly related to user experience.
The game has presented an interactive adventure experience with cards beautifully. The presence of different types of cards and occasional dangers visiting our table has made the game more exciting. The game offers the player a wide range of experiences with card combinations. I really liked it and definitely recommend it
The game is very fun, but some bugs slow down the game, I hope it will be fixed because it is in early access. It is similar to Stacklands and cultist simulator as gameplay. I recommend it <3
The game is cool. It's the first time I've played a game with such a mechanic. It's a bit hard and has bugs but they have made some nice developments since the demo version. So I trust the developers. The game will get much better with updates.
Card game with gathering and crafting. Game is fun as much as i expected. Worths every penny.
First 20min Gameplay here It's not often that a game comes along offering something new. But this one does! Get ready to gather ingredients, mix potions, and deliver your orders =) Yes, you read that right! In this game, you are an Alchemist who has to mix the right ingredients to please the customers within the given time =) The better the ingredients, the greater the potential of the mixture to aid the customer. A big thumbs up!
