Alaska Solitaire Classic Card Game

It's just solitaire but free. Not much else to say.

"Alaska Solitaire Classic Card Game" is, just like it says on the box, a variant of Klondike/Solitaire where you match alternating cards until you sort out the whole deck. The whole thing could be done in a web browser, but the developer felt it was important to dump this on Steam so they could try flog the entire set of these crappy card games (any of which you could play for free on the web without needing to go through the Steam download rigamarole) for $15. The graphics aren't great, simple 2D interface, so the whole thing could be done in a browser. I don't feel like Steam was intended to compete with Firefox and Chrome. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam.
