This one is perfect too. Like its previous version and although I knew its not night spring but it still hurt in the end that the main alan wake is still in the dark not with alice.
Just coming off of Alan Wake Remastered, was craving some more games in the same universe and found this game. Overall, I feel this is a nice, short stint back into Alan's story, but the Evil Mr. Scratch definitely steals the show! Probably my favorite part about the game is watching him do his Evil hijinks throughout the game. He knows how Evil he is and enjoys messing with Alan. Okay, getting into some more in-depth part of the review, I'll break it down into a couple parts:
Gameplay
- Largely similar to Alan Wake, he has a few more tools in his arsenal this time, which is a nice refresh, but would've liked to see a bit more power weapon variety. - Gameplay is more arcade-y (even has a mode!), so the flashlight recharges much faster. This made it feel much much less frustrating than the first game to ward off enemies. - The requirement to find manuscripts to unlock better weapons was a nice touch of progression and pushes people to seek out the story is great - Enemy variety has also been expanded with a few new additions that really add to the sandbox. I'll admit, the original Alan Wake's game's enemies didn't have much variety and it was showing near the end - Arcade mode is fun, but felt like a slog after finishing the main story. After putting it down and coming back after a few months, was actually fun to chase my high score and lock down the remaining achievements; it can be difficult to manage the enemy mobs on Nightmare mode!
Story
- Overall, without spoilers, it did get a liiiitle stale at times, but I enjoyed moving through and collecting manuscripts as I was curious about Alan's story after the first game. - As mentioned, I love love love Mr. Scratch. He's so cartoonishly Evil; get the game just for him! - Lastly, the story's a bit short, but doesn't overstay its welcome.
Conclusion
This game adds a little variety over the first installment and has a nice short story. Though, only grab it if you're an Alan Wake fan. Else, you may find it disappointing.
cool👌
good
simple and good game
