[Edited this review to account for new changes and response from developer] This game seemed interesting being a mixture of a puzzle and a rhythm game, but even if you ignore some of the game's current bugs it mostly feels like a much slower version of Tetris with some background music that doesn't impact the game much. The music itself is mostly bland and too calm. It was putting me to sleep at times, which is typically not good for a rhythm game. This music is fine background music for just a puzzle game but the problem is this isn't just a puzzle game this is also, more so, supposed to be a rhythm game. Rhythm games usually keep players engaged by making players feel like they're performing the music themselves in one way or another but in this game the music is just a timer to the end of the puzzle and an annoyance you have to deal with to clear matches. There's some small bugs with controller support too, but that's fine because this game isn't listed as having controller support yet. The dev is working to fix the issues it has currently with those it seems and then I'm guessing once those are addressed the store page will list it as having controller support. The settings menu lacks any option to adjust volumes currently. I've never, in my life, played a rhythm game that doesn't let you change your volume settings. I suggest the dev implements that in a future update but until then players will have to use their computer's volume control on the app itself if needed. The game has a campaign mode that's a 30 minute game where you play 10 songs that are 3 minutes each and try to not die from the puzzle until the 30 minutes are up. I didn't get to finish it because there's a bug currently where if you fail a song later on in the campaign, it tries to restart from that song but ends up playing two or three songs over each other. It got so incredibly annoying that I ended up opening my computers volume control and just muting the game. Then after playing it with no music at all for a bit and realizing the music part of a rhythm game just doesn't matter I asked myself why am I even playing this and closed the game. I didn't get to see this myself because of quitting but I also saw someone say when the music plays over itself you can end up with the music ending before the 30 minute campaign is over, leaving the rest of the game in silence until the time runs out. I have no idea if that bug is still there but just know it might happen. To the developer's credit though, this review used to be a lot longer and listed a lot of other bugs and concerns with the game but they've actually, really quickly, gone and fixed them, so good on them! I'll adjust my review more as these issues get addressed and I hope eventually it gets updated to a point where I can recommend it.
I was given a review copy for Akihabara – Feel the Rhythm Remixed by the developer ‘ Mårten Jonsson ‘, this game is out of my comfort zone so I don’t usually play games like this. Before actually understanding what I needed to do, i had to learn how the game works. I also played before the official release. This means that it’s possible I encountered bugs, that are not there anymore in the current release. Here is what I think about Akihabara – Feel the Rhythm Remixed. http://playingindies.com/review-akihabara-feel-the-rhythm-remixed/
It's pretty much the same as the non-remixed version only with a couple more songs, but without the bonus DLC mode. The bonus DLC mode is in my opinion worth more than the extra songs, so play the original first, and then if you still want more you can give this version a try as well. The main reason I'm giving this game a negative review is because it has broken achievements. If you care about achievements do not get this game. The broken achievements are Destroyer Deluxe and Blockography. Update: The broken achievements were fixed so I'm changing my review to a thumbs up, however I still recommend getting the non-remixed version over this one.
《Akihabara - Feel the Rhythm Remixed》
Akihabara - Feel The Rhythm is a Tetris/Dr Mario ripoff with an anime girl/techno music theme. Match the falling blocks in time with the music. First up with the good points. The game is fairly well polished, the music isn't terrible. It's not a Unity asset flip or a 2D indie retro pixel platformer etc, etc. A genuine attempt to make a video game took place. On with the not so good stuff. The game only has 2D graphics (despite being released in 2018, some 20 years after 3D accelerators like the Riva TNT became commonplace, so we're a little behind the times here). Also, it's basically just a tetris game, and you can play that for free in browser/mobile, so it's hard to recommend anyone should pay money for that. Finally, you might say, what about the soundtrack? As a developer, if your business plan is to compete with Spotify, which is free and has effectively unlimited music, all of which is better than the music here, you failed before you even started. Gamers can listen to the Spotify for free. A game cannot be seen as recommendable just because it competes badly with listening to the radio or to MP3s. Finally the price for a Tetris ripoff with a few bundled MP3s is a little extreme considering they're competing with the completely free activities of playing a browser game while listening to the radio.

Feels less like a rhythm game and more like a combination between Tetris and Brick Breakers. Nto s ure if it's implemented later, but it's a bit weird to not see the ability to rotate pieces but rather just flip them. Overall it's pretty meh, nothing really to keep me playing.
Bardzo przyjemna gierka.
