So I'd recommend this game with some caveats to steer expectations. To start, Akatori focuses much more on precision platforming rather than combat or anything else. It's pretty much straight forward and linear, at least for the first 5-6 hours of gameplay. They are already speaking of "the final boss" already, so I really hope it's not more than 50% done at this point. The combat has potential, especially when you unlock everything, but it unfortunately starts to feel competitive, especially since you will be replaying areas over and over. When it comes to combat mechanics, you unlock some after boss battles, but about half of the potential combat unlocks are situated at these purple bells you right (chaos bell). To unlock them, you have to have a full chaos meter, which requires taking out enemies over the course of a few save locations in order to ever unlock them. After 6 hours, I've only unlocked deflect. You seem to be able to upgrade your health for a large amount of $, but now that I have that money, I have no idea which vendor it was that had that. All that being said, the combat does feel good, and movement is fluid (albeit annoying with how slow the delay is between dash/etc moves). It's definitely a challenging game, but I'm also not great (nor do I really enjoy) precision platformers.
It was kind of funny how I thought I had to trade in my companion for Skis, and turned out I beat/lost the game and the credits rolled. Thankfully, I saved close by,
I would recommend the game for those who are competent at precision platformers and who enjoy action platformers. I personally enjoy the game, but I can't play precision platformers for more than maybe 2 hours at a time before I get too frustrated to continue.
It's disappointing. There's the bones of something interesting, but the systems don't really gel well. A lot of stuff is just "there" without coherence. The controls are awkward and floaty and not in a good way. Combat is extremely simple and it feels like the only way they could make you engage with it is giving you very few HP so you die from a few mistakes while learning the boss' patterns rather than from the fight actually being hard. I gave up at the serpent chase sequence because while it's a cool idea, the timings are way too tight for how imprecise the controls are, and instant death just because the huge hitbox attack hit you while you were trying to platform just sucks. And it kinda shows because the last story achievement I got has only 20% of people getting it, so I'm not the only one throwing the towel there.
Отлично! Всё понравиось! Подойдёт как тем кто совсем не умеет играть в подобные игры, так и тем кому нужен челендж! Буду проходить дальше, надеюсь найду всех котиков ^_^
