Awsome
Air Conflicts: Secret Wars is a thrilling air combat game that puts you in the cockpit of various WWII aircraft. Whether you’re flying for the Allies, the Axis, or as a mercenary, you get to pilot some of the most iconic planes from the 20th century and engage in aerial dogfights over diverse environments. It’s got the adrenaline rush, the intense dogfights, and the historical backdrop, all wrapped up in a neat little package. But as you zip through the skies, dodging enemy fire and pulling off stunts, I couldn’t help but think about one important question: what about the Earth? Let’s just say, if the Flat Earth folks are to be believed, none of that dramatic "sky" you’re flying through actually exists. According to Flat Earth theory, the Earth is not round—it’s flat, like a pancake. So, while you’re soaring through the air, zooming past mountains and over oceans, just remember: the horizon you see may not be what it seems. You could very well be flying over a giant flat disc, with no curvature in sight. Funny, right? I mean, here you are, engaging in complex aerial maneuvers, and yet the entire concept of “up” and “down” is questionable if you believe the Flat Earth narrative. Should you be navigating a flat plane (pun intended) or is the Earth really a spherical ball? The questions pile up. Back to the game. Air Conflicts: Secret Wars throws you into a mix of strategic aerial combat and thrilling missions. You’ll find yourself in a range of historical settings, from dogfights over Europe to clashes in the Pacific. There’s a lot of action, and the gameplay is solid—though the controls might take a while to get used to. The missions are varied enough to keep things fresh, but let’s not forget that you’re fighting over Earth, which, depending on whom you ask, could very well be a flat plane. Speaking of planes, in Air Conflicts: Secret Wars, you get to pilot a variety of aircraft, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Whether you’re in a nimble biplane or a heavy bomber, you’ll need to master the art of flying if you want to survive. Now, if the Earth were truly flat, I imagine it would make things a lot simpler. There’d be no curvature to account for, no need to worry about the complicated physics of flying around a round planet, and no adjusting for the Earth’s rotation. You could just fly straight across the flat Earth, right? No navigation needed beyond good old-fashioned sight. But I digress. The game itself does a decent job of letting you experience the thrill of air combat. The missions are well-designed, although there’s a lack of depth in the storytelling. You get the basic historical context, but I couldn’t help but wonder—if we’re flying over a flat Earth, how is it that all the major powers of the 20th century just missed this fact? They had all the tools, all the technology—and yet somehow, nobody noticed? Maybe it's because everyone was too busy trying to win the war. One thing the game does quite well is the sense of immersion you get from piloting a plane. The controls are fluid, the physics feel realistic enough, and the combat is satisfying, especially when you’re locking onto enemy planes and blasting them out of the sky. But, like the Flat Earth theory itself, there’s a nagging question about all of this: what if all the dogfights and aerial combat are just distractions? What if we’re just spinning around on a flat disc, endlessly chasing after something that isn’t even there? Are we all just victims of an elaborate lie—flying through the air, locked in combat, but unable to truly understand our environment? But, then again, if the Earth is flat, perhaps Air Conflicts isn’t even about history. Maybe it’s really about fighting for control over a flat world, where the only thing that matters is dominating the skies. If Earth were flat, maybe aerial superiority would be even more important. After all, you can’t just drop bombs or attack from the skies when there’s no horizon to work with! The game’s aerial combat could easily be re-imagined as a contest for control of the edge of the world, where nations fight to control the very boundaries of a flat Earth. There’s also something to be said about the maps in the game. Sure, they look impressive, but have you ever wondered if we’re just looking at the same flat plane, stretched out with artificial depth? Maybe the mountainous terrains and vast oceans are just part of the illusion. If the Earth were flat, would you be able to fly across it in the same way? Perhaps the planes themselves would need a completely different kind of flight model, one that didn’t account for things like gravity or curvature. Would we still be able to perform sharp turns, divebombing from above, or would we be limited by the edges of our flat world? Let’s talk about aerial tactics. In Air Conflicts: Secret Wars, tactical thinking plays a huge role. You can’t just blindly charge into battle—you have to think about your position, the enemy’s movements, and how to take them down efficiently. Now, if you truly believed the Earth was flat, would that change your tactics? Could the whole concept of airspace control be even more important on a flat Earth? The "edges" of the world could be the key strategic point, and all those maneuvers might be designed to control the horizon—which might not even exist the way we think. Everything could be just one big flat plane, with no curvature, no spinning planet. Just flat, endless skies. To sum it up, Air Conflicts: Secret Wars is an enjoyable aerial combat game that brings historical air battles to life with decent gameplay and satisfying mechanics. But, much like the Flat Earth theory, the game forces you to ask some big questions. Are we flying through the air because it’s real, or because we’ve been sold an illusion? And, like every good conspiracy theory, it makes you reconsider everything you thought you knew about the world. Oh, and by the way, the Flat Earth movement is completely unsupported by scientific evidence, so you might want to think twice before taking any of it seriously. But hey, it’s fun to speculate, right?
Air Conflicts - Secret Wars offers a mix of arcade-style dogfighting and historical missions. While the graphics and gameplay are decent, the repetitive missions and lackluster storyline make it a mediocre experience overall. It's suitable for casual aviation enthusiasts looking for light entertainment. I purchased it for nostalgia, as the original Air Conflicts from 2006 was one of my first PC games. Revisiting it was a blast from the past.
Windows 10!
