Great new civilization to add riches to the sub-continent with diverse culture & religions. Dravidians is great but Thirisadai ship appearance needs to be reworked to better reflect ancient Chola ship who roams from Middle east to China, and current Thirisadai appearance need to be given to Malays as uinique naval units to reflect naval civilization. Current Thirisadai appearance is based of ancient 'Borobudur' ship of the shailendras-srivijayas with Tanja Sails native to Austronesians (malays included).
i love this game
Dynasties of India...The DLC with a more proper reconstruction of the -Indians- factions, along with releasing the three most influential cultures around those parts. Especially the Bengalis, Dravidians and Gurjaras. Certainly an A DLC The campaigns...Are fun. But...Babur...Isn't very great in my opinon, unlike Rajendra and Devapala. But still its a DLC worth buying. On sale.

Well, what can you say? In 2026 AoE II is still the greatest RTS game of all time, apart from Command & Conquer Red Alert and Operation Tiberian Sun, and the more content it gets, the better. The Dynasties of India DLC is another awesome addition with three new campaigns that focus on medival India, and the stories they tell are decently interesting. The campaigns themselves are not exactly the most challenging or creative ones compared to earlier expansions, but they have some excellent mission design for the most part and are very fun to play. So yeah, if you like AoE II, get this. _________________________________________________________________ AGE OF EMPIRES 2: DYNASTIES OF INDIA (DLC) Genre: Realtime Strategy Release: Q2 2022 ( ) 0/8 Simply one of the worst games ever made. Don't waste any money on this. ( ) 1/8 Bad. Seriously flawed with barely any redeeming qualities. Worth a couple of Cents at best, if at all. ( ) 2/8 Sub-par. Only for hardcore-fans of respective genre / series. Don't pay more than 5 bucks. ( ) 3/8 Meh-diocre. It‘s okay. Don't pay more than 10 bucks. ( ) 4/8 Decent, but not for everybody. Don't pay more than 15 bucks. ( ) 5/8 Good game, Must-play for genre- / series-fans. Worth 20 to 25 bucks max, if you are not a fan. ( ) 6/8 Great game, universal recommendation. 30 bucks would be a steal for this. (X) 7/8 Outstanding game, a milestone of it‘s respective genre. Definitely worth its full prize. ( ) 8/8 Simply one of the best games ever made. Get this, the prize doesn't matter.
Forget the multiplayer side for this review. If you really want to know if the new boys stack up on ladder, go check the rankings. Pretty much a rehash of what I said about Lords of the West: I saw no reason to purchase DLC. AOEII:DE comes standard with hundreds of hours of content. But the developers have breathed new life into the old girl with more story driven approach to maps. Every map presenting objectives or challenges we have not encountered before, optional secondary objectives with benefits, RPG elements and unique units with, well, increasingly unique abilities. More specifically to Dynasties of India, they tried to make this particular expansion stand out with theme of morality. Juxtapositioning religious beliefs, or notions of right and wrong, with the realities of rulership. Holding an empire together. Putting down rebellion. Burning an economic rivals civilisation to the ground so your own may prosper. The meek do not carve their names in history. I have to tip my hat to the developers for the attempt. I do not think it hit as intended. Wiping out a bunch of innocent pixels was usually the more efficient, and fun, solution. I doubt many players felt bad about it. I also have my doubts the actual historical figures held these moral doubts. Truthfully, looking them up only learned we know shocking about these rulers who reigned at their civiliasations zenith. Also tip my hat for campaign maps where you had to focus more on economy and diplomacy. Rare enough in the franchise.
