About

Build, Gather and Fight in a Desperate Last Stand Against an Onslaught of Never Ending Evil!
The darkness is an entity of evil. Some say it is the manifestation of human fear and nightmares, others say it is a wandering mass of damned souls haunting us. The origin of the darkness itself is unknown, but one thing for certain is that we can keep it at bay through the power of light and fire.
The complete, full release of Age of Darkness: Final Stand is available now and includes Co-operative Multiplayer, Campaign, and Survival modes.

Brace yourself against huge tidal waves of Nightmares. Leveraging an internally developed technology called ‘SwarmTech’ allows the game to render over 70,000 enemy units on the screen at one time. These enemy legions claw their way up through seething fissures in the earth to reinforce ‘The Veil’.

Light up a rich, complex, procedurally generated map to claim territory back from ‘The Veil’. A dynamic living death fog that conceals enemies and drains life from your troops. Holding the line against this terror is not for the faint of heart.

Borrowing from the the roguelite genre, Malices are random afflictions placed on the player during every Death Night, unraveling the best made plans. Conversely, if a Death Night is survived, you may decide between three randomly selected Blessings, enriching the experience and giving your army a much needed edge.

Lead the charge against the horrors of the night with powerful and unique Heroes. Using special abilities gained from leveling up, these Heroes can be key to turning the tide of a desperate battle. But beware, the Nightmares have Elite roaming champions of their own that drop precious resources when killed, posing an extreme and ever-present threat to your expansion.

Co-Op Multiplayer - Team up with a friend in co-op multiplayer to survive the onslaught, defend humanity from the forces beyond the Veil, and reclaim the light together
Epic Campaign - Award winning single-player campaign full of epic battles and dire threats
Survival Mode - Put your endurance and skills to the test in the endlessly replayable Survival Mode
Award-Winning SwarmTech™ Technology – Witness the internally developed ‘SwarmTech’ technology, allowing the game to render over 70,000 enemy AI units on the screen at one time.
Unique Heroes & Factions – Choose Heroes reigning from three distinct Factions - The Order, Rebellion & Volatists - each with their own playstyles, abilities, bonuses and army units that offer a unique gameplay experience.
Dynamic Day & Night Cycle – Fight to reclaim territory by day and survive against the relentless horrors that come with every night.
Living Death Fog – Encounter The Veil, a living death fog that conceals terrors and adds a new layer of danger to your survival, which must be kept at bay through the power of the Light.
Malices, Blessings & Hardships – Embrace roguelite mechanics that make every run unpredictable and unique.
Elite Nightmares – Hunt down wandering powerful enemies for Dark Essence, each requiring different tactics and strategies to defeat.
Horror and Embolden Status Effects - Embolden your army to aid them in battle, but ensure they are protected from the brutal effects of being Horrified.
Terrifying Nightmare Foes – Face off against horrifying monsters like Spitters, Crushers, and Wraiths, each wielding unique abilities.

Game feels unfinished
This isn't a BAD game. I might even say that it is a good game. But that's mainly because it copied the gameplay of They Are Billions. For the most part, I would say play TAB instead, unless you want more of a fantasy feel. Pros: -Getting rid of the building range feels better. I think it it actually hurts the pacing and flow of expanding, but it gets rid of the frustation of having a space be just out of range. -I like the hero mechanic, wish they had done more with it. Might have really made the game stand out. Cons: -There is a lighting mechanic, and what is esentially "fear." This seems like it SHOULD be a big focus of the game. Needing to continually burn wood to make light, should be a big part of the economy. Instead, for the most part this entire system doesn't matter too much. Early on, you won't really notice the effects of darkness/light and later on, its trivially easy to plop down some extra towers to make sure you have light. Biggest dissapointment for me. -There is an autoformation tool. Seems like a great idea. I expected it to put my swordsmen front, spearmen behind where they can poke forward, and then ranged behind. No way to do that. It's just melee then ranged. -Nothing really new. There is depth, but its not all that different from TAB. -Too easy. On Normal difficulty in TAB, I needed to try over and over again before I even was able to make it to the end of a survival level. Here, I did it on the first attempt. Perhaps, that instead just speaks to how similar to TAB the game is. If you are desperate for some more games like They Are Billions, then I guess play this. If you haven't played TAB, just play it instead.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I was very interested in seeing where this went. The devs had done a great job evoking the RTS feelings of old... only to shelf the project entirely, based on their patch notes. Another reviewer summed it best; this game had so much promise, and a complete lack of notation or announcement to let their player base know what's happening here has broken trust. I won't be purchasing future titles.
Leaving a review because people are giant entitled babies. This game's patch content ended up at a perfectly fine spot. Not every game has years of free patch content. It has more than enough content. There is a whole campaign and then endless mode, as much as the zombie game this is inspired by. It was a lot of fun. I normally only play turn based strategy and I'm glad I gave it a go.
Раньше эта игра работала, теперь дальше выбора персонажа дело не доходит. И я, если честно, вообще не хочу разбираться почему эта срань перестала работать.
Abandoned game
Bro no quiero pensar que abandonaron este juego pero el ultimo parche fue en junio de 2025
trash
Game had huge potential, devs was way to slow to push the ONLY update thr commumity was asking for and right after without actually completing & making multiplayer work well they announced that they've moved on to other projects on discord. Its a good concept of a game but bad developers. ONLY buy it at a discount.
