About

Taking place in the vibrant city of Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, Afterlove EP is a blend of visual novel, narrative adventure and rhythm game elements from the creator of Coffee Talk and What Comes After.
Step into the shoes of Rama, a young musician struggling to move on with life after the death of his girlfriend, Cinta.
Whilst his close friends and bandmates are all determined to help him move on, Rama has been stuck for more than a year. He’s neglecting his music, his mental health and his relationships.
Making things harder, he’s hearing Cinta’s voice inside his head, unsure if she is a spirit or part of his imagination.

Rama’s band has a critical gig in one month’s time. Either he gets serious about his music and delivers the new songs he has been promising or the band will move on without him.
Over twenty-eight days and nights it will be your choices that determine the path Rama takes. Explore the city, choose which relationships to repair and which new ones to pursue. Come to terms with the past, rediscover your creative voice and help Rama shape a future for himself.

Discover modern day Jakarta through side-scrolling exploration, engage in deep and meaningful conversations with the characters of your choosing and jam with your band in rhythm game sections.

Part of the burgeoning Indonesian indie game development scene, Afterlove EP seeks to create an authentic window into modern urban life in Indonesia.

Set in the streets of Jakarta where several of the developers live or have lived, the game also features the distinctive, manga-inspired art of renowned Indonesian artist Soyatu and an original soundtrack from Indonesian indie band L’Alphalpha.

No stranger to stories which tug at the heartstrings, Afterlove EP is the final project from renowned narrative designer, writer and developer, Mohammad Fahmi, who sadly passed away in March 2022 at the age of 32.

Pikselnesia is an Indonesian indie studio founded by Fahmi for the Afterlove EP project. After his passing, the team pledged to complete the game and bring his vision to fruition.
Fully remote, the team is spread across Indonesia and team members have worked on games including A Space for the Unbound, What Comes After and Hello Good Boy.

I'll try and stop crying and compose myself to write a good review. After Love EP is such a beautiful game, where after a year after losing your girlfriend, you start to hear her voice again in your head just like if she was right there in the room with you. It's comforting but only you can hear her. With this newfound discovery, you decide to jump start things again and get back into what you love; music and getting your friends band back together after a year hiatus. Only, they're struggling too with how you isolated yourself after everything that happened and you have a month before your big comeback show to figure out how to move forward in your life without only listening to the voice in your head of your lost loved one but also learning to trust your friends and let their voices be heard as well as finding your own voice. The game perfectly explores the complexities of grief, navigating dating and exploring new possible relationships, rebuilding trust and reconnection among friends, and exploring self discovery and healing through friendship, trying new things, therapy, and 4expressing your thoughts and feelings through music with beautiful songs and guitar hero melody type mini games.

Very sweet and cute but I wish the game went an extra step. I felt like Rama was still in the midst of changing when the game ended (I got the perfect ending). I'm okay without a sense of finality, but I felt like the game's themes of moving-on and grief weren't fully addressed. Especially since the unhealthy, narcissistic, and unrealistic projection of Cinta still remained in Rama's conscious!
Schönes Spiel
Jogo lindo e bem criativo. Te faz sentir o peso e coloca nas suas mãos a resposabilidade do que fazer depois, abordando muito bem os temas e as consequencias das suas escolhas. Muito bom
fun cute game
Wholesome game, and the music is amazing!
An interesting game to play regardless of one's preconception or state of mind. This experience was on my wishlist for years, and after getting my first ending, and adequately preparing for the idea of routes, I planned and executed in one session across 4 save files. Earning 100% Having one vocal talent, the talented Risa Mei, was an adventurous and bold choice, it matches the narrative and mechanical mindset the game would like to experience. Their performance was grounded, wide-ranging, and provoked many romantic, playful, and at times, melancholic emotional reactions. The rhythm sections were serviceable, yet should not be a mechanical highlight, earning the "Perfect" achievements for them first try should be easy to do on M/K, controller causes double inputs, which makes running difficult to do at time of review. I went it with the emotional maturity and preconceptions, that served me well mechanically, yet got me emotional once those preconceptions got me to doubt them early on. I earned an intended and unconventional ending that was true to how I would have processed, yet made sure to save the "perfect" ending as my send off for the experience. If one is grieving, this an excellent gateway towards the process. If one has not grieved in the way the protagonist or supporting characters have before, this will provide perspective that is valuable and applicable for empathy and understanding. If one shares a similar, presented mindset of the protagonist that seems to be the implied without player input, then this could be an inflection point for those who see their experience to the end, Personally,
I love the introspective route, where we focus on ourselves and the band, no romance, yet developed those relationships to the extent that practically, they would come to the show if I forged a friendship with them, it is how I like to play visual novels where romance is not the goal, and I once I was exploring the other routes, I could think the women were a great fit for the character, yet the sole male route was excellent
Your world is so colorful now.
Sadly this one wasn't for me, but I'm going to start off by listing the things I did like: the unique choice of setting, the quirky art style and the cohesive soundtrack. The rhythm sections are pretty fun, too. Now, the negatives: the characters are unconvincing and reading the dialogue is actually like pulling teeth (or reading a fan-fiction written by a 13-year-old, whichever is worse).
