About

Taking place in the vibrant city of Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, Afterlove EP is a blend of visual novel, narrative adventure and rhythm game elements from the creator of Coffee Talk and What Comes After.
Step into the shoes of Rama, a young musician struggling to move on with life after the death of his girlfriend, Cinta.
Whilst his close friends and bandmates are all determined to help him move on, Rama has been stuck for more than a year. He’s neglecting his music, his mental health and his relationships.
Making things harder, he’s hearing Cinta’s voice inside his head, unsure if she is a spirit or part of his imagination.

Rama’s band has a critical gig in one month’s time. Either he gets serious about his music and delivers the new songs he has been promising or the band will move on without him.
Over twenty-eight days and nights it will be your choices that determine the path Rama takes. Explore the city, choose which relationships to repair and which new ones to pursue. Come to terms with the past, rediscover your creative voice and help Rama shape a future for himself.

Discover modern day Jakarta through side-scrolling exploration, engage in deep and meaningful conversations with the characters of your choosing and jam with your band in rhythm game sections.

Part of the burgeoning Indonesian indie game development scene, Afterlove EP seeks to create an authentic window into modern urban life in Indonesia.

Set in the streets of Jakarta where several of the developers live or have lived, the game also features the distinctive, manga-inspired art of renowned Indonesian artist Soyatu and an original soundtrack from Indonesian indie band L’Alphalpha.

No stranger to stories which tug at the heartstrings, Afterlove EP is the final project from renowned narrative designer, writer and developer, Mohammad Fahmi, who sadly passed away in March 2022 at the age of 32.

Pikselnesia is an Indonesian indie studio founded by Fahmi for the Afterlove EP project. After his passing, the team pledged to complete the game and bring his vision to fruition.
Fully remote, the team is spread across Indonesia and team members have worked on games including A Space for the Unbound, What Comes After and Hello Good Boy.

Wow. This game really blew me away. The art style, the music, the character development, everything is done so well. In a world filled with AI slop, it was so refreshing to step into the world of Afterlove EP. The characters were so loveable and relatable, each one with a distinct personality, and each of them facing their own challenges and troubles. The way the game deals with the concept of loss and grief was real and raw. The replayability due to the various routes one can take gives the game additional depth. Also, the rhythm games were a nice break in between all the dialogue. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes story games that explore the concepts of love, loss, growth and grief. 10/10!!
This game is really solid as far as a indie title goes. I enjoyed all of the story, all the characters, and the rhythm game elements, but some of the sound design felt off in some areas. Without much spoilers, there were scenes where we see Rama raise his voice and the music sounds peaceful. That is my only gripe but the rest of the game was very fun, and I will be revisiting this game as time allows me.
走了双性恋那条线,一边放不开前女友让继续陪伴脑内聊天,一边又对男朋友心动脸红,懒得说。另外两条妹子线算了。

Wonderfully crafted game with great music to go along with it, i found some bugs with the rhythm portions of the game where it wouldn't register some key inputs and cause me to lose my perfect score, and to be honest, if the rhythm section was to be made, I would have liked it to be more fleshed out, or at the least be properly mapped out the beat of the songs. The rhythm parts felt very disjointed, offbeat, and simple, but not simple enough where I could read the lyrics for some of the voiced pieces, this kind of turned me off to the rhythm portions. The story was pretty good, not amazing, not boring, and not bad. The day/night cycle was interesting but it didn't leave you many options to view memories or do any side activities like busking. The writing was ok but I wish Cinta's character had been expanded on more than what was shown through Rama's head, it made it hard to find sympathy for Rama and Cinta when they were getting on my nerves throughout my playthrough. The side characters/romance portions were also not my favourite, they were basic and didn't inspire much emotion from me, a lot of the conversations with both main and side characters seemed on the more 13-17 year old demographic but still found them compelling enough to finish the game and find out what happens. I recommend this game, it's a wonderfully made world with lots of potential and decent writing, but on a things such as; side character exploration, writing maturity, and questionably implemented rhythm sections, there is lots of room for improvement.
“Hey who left this bowl of onions here?” - Squidward Tentacles I really enjoyed my time with this game. I understand that the style of gameplay and writing may not be for everyone, but it absolutely landed for me. Despite its highly emotional subject matter, it never comes off as “sappy” or melodramatic which is what makes all the characters and their situations feel so real. The ending… ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. That was straight up the first game ever to make me cry. Then again I did get the perfect ending, for which you need to find all the memories of Cinta which are in really non-obvious places so you’ll basically have to use a guide to find them all in a first playthrough, This is a game with a lot of heart, very cute and expressive character designs, a fantastic soundtrack that really grounds its identity, and isn’t too long if you want something quick to playthrough. Just… don’t play it too soon after losing a loved one, it might hit a tad too hard.
amazing game
I honestly didnt expect afterlove ep to affect me as much as it did. i came into the game curious about the story, but i ended up getting completely attached to the characters, espeically Rama and Satria. Their relationship was one of my favorite parts of the game. I definelty recommend if your a fan of life is strange or lost records definetly a mix of both!
泣けるゲームです。素晴らしすぎる。
