Where do I begin. Originally started playing their affected games via Oculus DK2. So good. Then they came out with the official version on Oculus Rift- it was one of the most immersive and best experience to this day. Then the Quest version came out. This is where the problem began. They created a super watered down version for quest, and now forced me to play this version on Steam, not allowing me to revert back to the non updated version. I could no longer play the original version that was so amazing. They then said they would offer the "legacy" version to address this- I was overjoyed. Well- the Index controllers would not work, and I even bought the original Vive controllers and they also would not work. What kind of developer does this? The new versions are not good. Bring back the old version I paid for on Steam- you will never get us to buy the newer game you are working on when you robbed us of what made the game initially great-we paid for the good version and you forced the watered down 5th grader graphics version. All we are asking is let the legacy version actually work like you claimed it would since that is what we paid for.
The old version I played on Oculus had much better graphics. It was one of the first VR games I played and it is still one of the best VR experiences I had. But then sadly it got updated and questified, meaning, the graphics have gotten much worse. I bought the game again on Steam, because the devs provide the legacy version as a beta, but sadly it doesn't have controller bindings for my Rift S Oculus Touch Controllers. An error message appears, because it cannot find a file called "action.json". It seems the game is trying to load the action.json from the folder of the official version. So I also installed the official version alongside the legacy version and the error message disappeared. But still, my Oculus Controllers do not work. In Steam VR I can select the Oculus Touch Controllers for the game and the buttons seem to work just fine, but they do not work in-game. If the legacy version would work, I could recommend the game, but with those down-graded graphics I am disappointed. @Devs: Since this only seems to be a controller binding issue, it should be an easy fix. Or at least give us the legacy version in the Oculus Store.
Man, I saw Mark play this years ago, and loved it. FInally get a chance to play, and it's completely different. Yes the legacy edition exists, but it doesn't work for me
Although I can appreciate an upgraded game, this was not the case. It was completely changed from what was released. If they want a "complete" game, they should include the original 2 experiences. I really miss those and it pisses me off.
Shame I had to refund this game but it literally would not work, every time the game opened it just would refuse to open in the Meta Quest interface so I would try and use mouse and keyboard to snap to full screen, it just would not go into full screen and wouldn't even detect the motion from the hand controllers either. I imagine this game is good and that's most of the reason I bought it because I heard it was one of the scarier VR games to play but couldn't even get it to open so can't recommend it unless there is fix for this
Just played this and I was actually really excited to because the original free version is one of my favorite old VR titles. It didn't really scare me too much, the game felt very slow, the main mode was 40 minutes, the other 2 modes which were kinda interesting were 5 minutes each. Also from what I am researching the graphics got downgraded to hell in a patch because the guys wanted it to match the Quest version for some reason. They did add a legacy branch a few months later to make up for that issue but apparently the files for any sort of input do not exist and the developers haven't fixed it despite complaints for 5+ years now. I'd give it a 6/10. Primarily because I can see how others can enjoy it and be scared, however I still feel like the original experience is better.
waste of time for me
im trying to play on htc cosmos and it seems the left joystick has no purpose when it is supposed to run? why doesn't it work?I have to move around the room and slowly turn the perspective... is there a way to fix this?
Paid $10 for a heart attack and to watch my 28 year old sister scream and punch a wall, breaking my left controller. Definitely worth it.
