Before even going into reviewing the gameplay I have to remark on that this game crashes a lot. I have basically been unable to finish the game since it always crashes before bosses. I have 8 hours playtime, and I have experienced atleast 6 crashes, and since all progression is lost when it crashes it is impossible to finish the game. And moving on to the gameplay I have to say that this game sadly is a big disappointment. The gameplay is way to boring, way to grindy and you don't feel like you are progressing at all. Every arena is just about running around looking on the walls to find every objective, it's not really about combat. And speaking of combat, the idea of a mech chassi that is visible on screen is one thing, but having it constantly lagging behind the mouse-look is horrible. It is clear that the developers thought that it is unrealistic to have a mech instantly turning, so they went with the realism at the cost of gameplay experience. This way of thinking occurs in other parts of the game aswell, where they have gone for something that looks good and feels cool, but gets really annoying really fast when you have to do it several times. One example is when you complete an award and want the award points. Instead of just giving you the points you have to click your way to the award screen, click on the specific award, wait for a very slow and annoying count-up animation and then you finally get your points. And then you just have to repeat that process with every other award you get, and there are many. This game feels like someone has thought out the game in advance, decided what looks good and then put it into production without any playtesting. It's a shame really, it could have been good.

Неплохой рогулайт на 4-6 часов Плюсы: + постепенный прогресс с открытием новых возможностей + неплохо смотрится + неплохо продумано с системой тарана + хороший баланс оружия + хороший звук Минусы: - нельзя отключить вид из кабины - всего 4 вида врагов: разрушители, башни, скорпионы и дроны - все боссы (3 штуки) с мощными лазерами (другого оружия не подвезли) - восхождение не то, которого ожидал (личное мнение) Правка - через 6 часов игры постоянные вылеты перед самым последним боссом, пытался за разных персонажей и с разным оружием, но всё равно на предпоследнем уровне всплывает окошко "error" Good roguelight for 4-6 hours Pros: + gradual progress with the discovery of new features + looks good + well thought out with the ram system + good weapon balance + good sound Minuses: - you can not turn off the view from the cockpit - only 4 types of enemies in total: destroyers, towers, scorpions and drones - all 3 bosses with powerful lasers (no other weapons brought up) - the ascention is not what I expected (my personal opinion)
it's ok, nothing special, but for occasional shooting at things, it's ok.
Great game.
Shoot alien robot bugs
Really like playing it so far. Looking forward to playing more of it!
30 years ago https://store.steampowered.com/app/273570/Descent/ did a better job at everything this game has - level design, enemy AI, movement, weapons, story. Run it with DXX-Rebirth source port today to see for yourself.
A fun little game with great presentation. My only issue stems from the HUD. I didn't realize for the longest time that the cockpit dashboard was displaying vital gameplay information to me, as there is also a non-diegetic HUD in the form of the crosshair and information surrounding it. I'd much rather all the information be on the HUD, and perhaps a bit more spread out, as the game doesn't really spend too much time to teach you where each piece of information is found.
I'll say this is very enjoyable. Although not exactly in my taste, I do have a lot of fun. There are quite a bit of flaws like the lack of sounds. You will only be reminded you're losing hull when this guy repeats the same line. Sometimes, Cannon/artillery will explode infront of your face if there are gibs around you. Unlocking things is a bit more tedious. Use this x number of times. I suppose this is intentional but the enemy machines don't come directly from the next they just pop into existence. HUD is integrated very well thematically as meters and things on the cockpit.
