Sadly, I cannot recommend this game as a Christian. This game doesn't line up with Scripture a lot of the times. I really wish there was more biblical Christian media out there that actually lines up with scripture.
Its genuinely irresponsible to release a game like this as a way of evangelising or educating people to Christianity regardless of their previous predispositions. The game does not align with Scriptures the vast majority of the time, since a lot of things are changed completely for "entertainment purposes". Other times the game is just inaccurate regardless. The dialogue is, most of the time, not taken from Scripture, and if it is, its needlessly simplified. The graphics are just not pleasant at all. The cutscenes break and cut out. Most of the Old Testament is missing regardless, and multiple parts just don't have an option to play them. Anyone young enough to know anything about technology would find the design laughable. Anyone old enough to have any idea about Scripture would find the inaccuracies and missing parts incredibly jarring. HOWEVER, this is an awesome gag gift.
8.5/10 My initial thoughts on this game are that it has a lot of potential. Currently there is a level set aside for each book of the old testament, however only 3 books are currently playable. Some would say that is a let down, however I prefer to see it as a sign of the incredible things to come. Where some see what sits unmade or unfinished I see potential for what is to come. In the Adam and Eve level you play as Eve and are tasked with collecting 5 apples before returning to Adam. Eve is actually a human submersible and can walk straight through the water with no hinderance. Also I would recommend jumping up slopes for faster movement speed, if you do it uphill then you don't incur the move stumble. The second level focuses on the story of Noah, where as we all know Noah had 20 minutes to stick fight mace wielding desert monks with his wooden staff and fireball spells. I had some serious performance issues on this level due to getting locked out of performing any inputs, but when it worked it was great. Personally I would recommend the developers putting all 4 of your fight abilities on separate cooldowns vice a shared cooldown to add more depth to the already promising combat. Also you may notice that the word "Until" on the timer in the corner is misspelled, this is actually accurate to the ancient Babylonian spelling "Untill" which is similar to today's current terminology of "Until". Its not a bug, it's a feature. For the third level "Abraham", The game crashed while loading and I was so overwhelmed with everything I had to shut the game down. The highs were so incredible that my heart rate is still elevated well above safe levels, but the lows from the missed opportunities due to bugs and my fear of missing out triggered a severe depressive state that my doctors have described as "catatonic and unprecedented." All in all I can safely say that this has the potential to stand as the best release of 2022. Step aside God of War and Elden Ring, bask in the glory of the lord and repent for ever assuming you could hold a candle to the holy glory that is Adventures of the Old Testament- The Bible Video Game.
please hire more experienced devs thank you
Definitely GOTY material right here folks! Forget about Elden Ring, It's shait anyways. Does Elden Ring allow you to kill the Turkish with plague and fire? No? Then what are ya'll waiting for!!!? Play the game of our lord and savior. Do NOT sleep on this one folks! You got a great deal here!!!
The game is alright, but the Noah level is broken and unable to be played. The other three levels are playable but the Noah level ruined it for me as i wanted to be able to save the animals. In my opinion don't waste your money on this game. Maybe once they add more levels i can change my review but right now i'm not gonna recommend this game. I would rather spend my money on Zoo race then pay another 1.99 for this game.
the game play is horrible and the scripture is also off incorrect
One of the best games i have ever gotten for my son, he enjoyed the noah's ark segment a lot, i want to thank the developers for making a truly great representation of the old testament for the youth of today.
So far, I have enjoyed it. I have only played up to the Abraham story. I want to review this fairly, as the game now stands: Graphics: 10/10 I enjoyed the graphics and animation, so far it was really well done. To be sure, modern gamers may think the game graphics and animation are a bit dated, but perhaps the Unreal Engine can be further utilized. Story: 8/10 So far the storyline is fairly close to the Biblical accounts. Again, I have only played up to, and including, the Abraham story. The Biblical Lessions provided, before the gameplay begins, is welcome but perhaps need to encompass differing viewpoints and interpretations (exegetical, good hermaneutics, etc) of the Scripture. Action Game-Play: So far so good. I like the action, but I got distracted when Bible information came up on the right side of the screen during 'combat'. Perhaps bring up the information AFTER the combat is resolved? End Anaylsis: So far, so good. I love the idea of a Bible based learning/action game with video and live action video elements that also teach the Truths of the Bible. I love that idea and I support your endeavors wholeheartedly. Hopefully you will keep updating the game regularly as I think I would pay a full price for this game when it is fully done (maybe put this game in early access so as to garner more people to try it and buy it?). So far, I recommend this Bible game and I encourage the developers to not give up on it but to continue to work on it and be FAITHFUL to a good translation of the Bible :) BWE P.s. I believe that the Noah mission gameplay is broken, please fix it :) (Please continue working on this game and I will support paying for it a bit more in the future as long as the quality continues and improves).
I was hoping for this to be a good experience, it seemed good at face value but actually playing it was a different story. It's downright horrible in playability. It's a great concept and good for values but it's absolutely frustrating to play.
