Adventures of Bertram Fiddle 1: A Dreadly Business

I do recommend this game, but can only recommend this game at a sale price. I'm actually quite disappointing by it. It's interesting, but not particularly taxing on the brain, all the puzzles can be completed by just clicking on things and making obvious item combinations. I completed it in just over an hour, although I did use the fast walk between scenes, so I could have made it longer had I not. I was enjoying it, and was getting into it as it finished, but the idea of paying full price for something this short would upset me. The voice acting and design are both good, and I smiled at a lot of the jokes, although it's not laugh-out-loud funny. If you do buy this plan to get the next one too, because you won't feel satisfied after just this episode.

Como todo buen producto británico es sarcasmo e ironia inglesa salpica esta corta aventura gráfica. Los personajes y voces están en su punto. Los graficos muy vivos recuerdan a los cartoons del periodo 2000. Y las caracterizaciones bastante buenas...incluyendo a nuestro pomposo y arrogante Sherlock Holmes que actúa como nuestro rival que nos roba la fama. Los puzzles son muy sencillos debido a que no hay tantas escenas y objetos con los que interactuar. Pero tiende a que haya algún softlock debido a que no existe un guardado automático al menos que salgas al menú principal. Por ejemplo, si completas la primera escena de persecución (y da comienzo al primer capitulo) y fuerzas salir del juego, te encuentras con que tienes el objeto del capítulo en el que estás pero en la pantalla del capitulo anterior. Esto resulta imposible de continuar en los primeros 10 minutos de la aventura. Quitando este error, el juego me ha parecido impecable. Y no, no hay trofeos porque no hay necesidad de tenerlos aqui.

i've been looking for point and click games to play and this one is just meh. there's no way to see what you actually have to do, every new area is a new chapter and its just boring really. it had potential to be fun but it falls short on actual gameplay

Completado en apenas dos horas en julio del 2025. Este va a ser el primer juego que pago en Steam al que le doy nota negativa. Si los votos tuviesen una escala de 0 a 10, le daría un 3, porque, la versión inglesa, que es la que he jugado, está bien interpretada, y bastantes de los muchos juegos de palabras me han parecido graciosos. Y de primeras, estéticamente los gráficos me han parecido divertidos. Pero hasta ahí, porque todo lo demás es un desastre. La historia no puede ser más lineal, los puzzles son inexistentes, en las conversaciones no hay posibilidades de réplica. El juego consiste en ir pulsando en lo obvio en todo momento, apenas hay posibilidades de pasar algo por alto. Y así se va avanzando en un relato que además es casi infantil en su simplicidad. Al final del juego aparecen una serie de organismos británicos y europeos que participaron de la financiación del desarrollo, dentro de algún tipo de programa que perseguía váyase a saber qué objetivo. Mi sensación es que estamos ante la comercialización de lo que parece un proyecto de curso de una academia de programación de videojuegos. Me parece muy bien que la gente se forme, que de algo hay que vivir. Pero el caso, es que aunque pagué menos de dos euros, para este juego, cualquier precio por encima de cero euros, me parece un engaño. Y lo malo es que lo compré dentro de un pack, con la segunda parte... ¿La jugaré alguna vez?

The game is very short, it ends in the middle without any closure.

A short, very easy point and click game that's set in world that's a parody of the Victorian era, featuring a posey attitude and alleys that smell like a turd! Sadly, it was a mixed experience. Protagonist has no personality except that of your average satirical british gentleman, and his accomplice- Gaven, is not a big talker and his only skill and use is that he's... strong. Unlikeable characters, a big minus. Puzzles are also incredibly easy to figure out. Basically you click all the interactable spots and the game will progress maybe except the times you merge some items to make tools. Every single line is voice acted but after a while(which wasn't long with how short the game is) it got tiresome to hear the jokes this game offers. If you're wondering about the story, it's nothingburger. In the wider scale(of actually solving a murder) nothing happens at all. My final verdict is... it is just okay to play if you can get it very, very cheap and really can't find anything else to play. But can I recommend this to other people who are unaware of this game? That's a firm no. Game has its charms(mostly its artstyle), but is forgettable and not a good example of the genre. 2 outta 10.

Скопирую свой отзыв ко второй части xD -Дорогой, давай поиграем в Шерлока Хомса. -Но дорогая, у нас уже есть Шерлок Хомс дома. "Шерлок Хомс дома: Adventures of Bertram Fiddle 1" Сюжет действительно интересный. Графика отличная, рисовка супер. Сами головоломки в этой игре мне не особо были интересны, поэтому для второй половины игры решил использовать прохождение, т.к. хотелось просто "посмотреть мультик" )))

I am giving this a positive review, but the game was not really for me. The voice acting was great, and there were numerous scenes to interact with. The puzzles were a bit too easy for someone who might regularly do point and click adventures. I was not very engaged in the story. However, for a younger or inexperienced audience, this game would be really good to start on.

Fun and entertaining short pnc! Great work on artwork, voices, story with many little details adding to it but keeping the gameplay simple enough. Story continues to part 2. Little hidden gem!
