Seems to be fixed. giving it another go ! ----- Old msg: Tried to play the game but we got stuck in main game and also in tutorial. Literally unplayable :( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o59XvuqrVk
edit: Put a gameplay breaking bug at bottom (it doesn't crash the game, but makes it FAR too easy, simply nuking everything on opposing side when used.). This is an interesting game to say the least. There's a few good and bad things I've noticed so far (stuff I skipped that was optional I won't critique against). NOTE: I'm aware of the major update arriving next month. I wanted to test before and after to truly see how much it'd improve. And some stuff I mention might not have even been on the radar. This is partly meant to help the dev (or devs) see anything they might have missed before rolling out the major revamp. First off, some of the flaws: The game (RPG maker itself) had 3 in game crashes during playing, and a random window crash. Could've been influenced by settings, it just happened randomly. The combat early on (I'm still early into it as I tend to not save as much as I should) is basically the same combos and if you decided to make it 50% turn speed on 2x difficulty, you'll quickly realize how rng dependant it will get. Which, I'm not saying is a fully bad thing, you can customize difficulty mid game at any time. The thing I'm critiqueing is higher difficulties give more exp. Which seems fine until you realize if you need to tone down a boss, you get less xp (I'm a fan of that, but I know some aren't). Also, the down time in some cutscenes feel a bit long (main game intro) with no real dialogue and take a bit for something to happen. Also, some of the music was a lot louder in certain areas than others, and by a good amount when it likely shouldn't have. Also, controls said space, z, and enter was jump, and in-game said Z. use Z. Space is interact. I don't know what enter is used for. Now, some of the better things I noticed: Spelling mistakes. extremely minor and easy to miss, I say this as a pro as it can be funny when playing with others to make them think there wasn't one. It's nothing major, just random letter missing from random words. Combat is simple to understand, with a certain enemy introducing an attack that will throw you off. Some fights make you change the go-to strategy, which is nice that its not always same cycle. Story is simple so far, with uncertainty being a factor I've noticed. Although it seems cons outweigh pros, I still recommend at least trying the demo. It's a simple game where you can relax while playing (unless you giga crank up difficulty like I do), which sometimes, is better than some high end game where you can't relax. This game has a lot of potential. This seems like something where gameplay was a second focus, which the major revamp is aiming to fix. I have high hopes for the revamp. TL;DR: I suck at explaining things, save a lot while playing, try the demo, major revamp next month. Edit: So, after a bit more playing... Dawn of shadows is casually hitting damage cap... on lvl 11 with no set up. Technically, it did it with worst possible situation (enemies took less dmg and i did less). And a certain boss HARD counters the cheese. Which i find is probably accidental, but so ironic you have a crutch for anything, then it proceeds to make the boss harder. Anyways, surely you noticed it in testing. I was just letting it be known.
