Action Commando is a Town of Machine spinoff focused entirely on combat. Hub-based world design, inventory management and most of the character interactions have been removed / de-prioritized in favour of fast-paced combat where your only concern is what's trying to kill you at a given moment. While it lacks the depth of Town of Machine, it works really well as a coffee break, action-packed, top-down shoot'em up. Unlike in its predecessor you don't have to worry about inventory space and quests - just go forward and blow things up... and it kind of works. The game is pretty short and unfortunately set almost entirely underground which makes the levels blend together but it's not that big of a deal considering its lenght. Give it a try if you ever feel like mowing down monsters for a few hours.
The game is fun so far. The art style is sleek and it's a responsive game. I like the sound effects, the lighting, graphics, etc. The level layouts are pretty good but I don't like the sections when you're walking towards the camera as you can't see enemies your character would otherwise be able to see. Fortunately, this didn't happen to me a lot, but it is something to watch for. I wish the dash filled up faster but otherwise a solid "top down" shooter.
Short but sweet top-down shooter. Good gameplay & solid design. Good way to kill a few hours.

꽤 잘만든 수작. 뒤로 가면 세이브포인트가 듬성듬성 있게 되어 불편한 것은 흠.
While I realize I have not yet put much time into this game, I find first impressions can often be as informative to potential buyers as the more thorough reviews posted by 100%-ers and others who have completed the game. After playing through the first level, I am quite happy with this game. In terms of gameplays mechanics, it's a fairly standard top-down shooter. It's technically competent, boasting a tight-but-smooth comtrol scheme, high-quality albeit cartoony visuals, and good audio effects backed by energetic-yet-uninvasive music. In terms of design logistics, environment is well designed though interactive elements could stand out more. Character and weapon upgrade systems are creative but not overly complex, offering some depth without being overwhelming. Most important of all, after finishing the first level, I am very excited to continue. I stopped just long enough to throw down this review and now plan to get right back in the game. Overall, I highly recommend this game to fans of the top-down shooter genre and anyone looking for an action-packed shooter that's easy to pick up but offers enough depth to keep you interested. If it's important to anyone, I purchased this game at a 60% discount, which might skew the perceived value of the product. However, I believe the game is in fact worth the listed retail price.
I got hard locked on the second level where I couldn't find anything to open the doors and I was locked in a certain area. The levels I did play are very well crafted and were fun, but getting hard locked so early on isn't.
This is the action-only version of town of machines. Which is quite nice. Takes about 4 hours to play through and has all the classics you would expect from a Paul-game.
Vraiment fun!
Parece ser bom, vamos ver se é mesmo!
