I had fun... a little bit, but not enough. It's sad for me to say this, but i cannot recommend this game. I had high spectations for this (well, not that high, but i expected it to be fun), but it falls under the mediocre videogame, and i really wanted to like it. Story wise, hmm... it's some random sh*t, not relevant, and there's no problem with it. We came here for the SHOOT AT EVERYTHING! But there's the main problem, i came here for the gameplay, and the gameplay... it's mediocre. Let's start with the positive points. - Some people don't like the art style or graphics, i do. - Shooting the guns itself, it's fun, you have variety and... well, that's it. Everything else just doesn't work. - The weapons aren't balanced, some are pretty much crap, and you'll use one or two that do decent damage. - The weapon upgrades are just... uhh so dissapointing. A lot of filler upgrades just for the sake of it. Typical upgrades like "5% faster reload" or "5% rate of fire". And repeat this 5 times for each upgrade. You won't notice anything, useless. I mean, sure, it will be 5% faster but... ok? - There's no interesting mechanics, and the ones that are in the game don`t work! - The dash is fine i guess, but it's caothic and you are not encouraged to use it. I finished the game without using it, just to move faster through already visited areas. - The "use melee attack to reflect bullets" just doesn't work, i tried it a lot of times, and i mean a lot. I died a lot of times just to try to make it work. - The enemies are like sponges, or maybe most of the guns are useless (*ehem* shotgun), which kills the momentum and the purpose of going rambo and killing things. And because of the mechanics i think that's the point, this is a casual game, more straight forward to just killing, but it becomes just tedious. It could have been awesome but fails on it's basics (for the aimed genre i mean).
This game is fun af. Give it a try. You can't beat it for the price, it is WELL worth it Great little game! Paul Schneider is a great game maker when he does his own thing and doesn't ask for opinions from anybody (Because he doesn't really want them anyway, and when he does listen he usually ignores his community and listens to randos that make one stupid comment on a youtube video and then he changes up the complete core mechanics of the game. He does better when he only listens to his own head and leaves the crowds noise out of it). But when he is in his own little world and doing his own thing with no bother from anybody else, He is a top notch developer. He developed the best mod for DOOM ever made, "UNLOVED" (you should definitely check it out on MODdb) as well as a few other games this way. This is how he should work. Another great little game by Paul. Props Blue! I will be playing this one all the way through! If you continue to make games this good, I will buy every single one!
__________________________________________ English: The game really surprised me at the start. That the raindrop flows down against the screen. The game can be played with a keyboard and mouse. But in this video I'm playing with an Xbox 360 controller. With the left stick you move the figure and with the other stick you control where you want to shoot. With R2 you shoot and with R1 you can hit the opponent with a knife or at the beginning only with your fist. You don't really see that with what you're hitting. I particularly like the gameplay in this game. You have to get used to it, but when you get the hang of it you will have fun playing this game. At some point I will still play the sequel to this game. I'm looking forward to it. The dialogues are kept simple, you can make decisions whether you want to compete alone in the level or whether you have a partner to help you fight. The sound is also good not that one-sided. You can handle the controls when you are over the course of the game. For me it was worth buying this game.
A well-crafted, action-focused twin stick shooter with a good dose of humour. It's a spin-off of Town of Machine that's set in the same universe. While it uses many of the same assets as ToM, it's more action-orientated and simpler to play. Made by single person, its production values are excellent - gameplay, graphics, sound: all are top-notch. It's worth playing Town of Machine before this, but not wholly necessary.
This game looks like fun at first, but it get really annoying for several reasons: * Most weapons are crap. * Weapon and character upgrades are seriously useless. * Bugs. Dash gets bugged all the time and I even got a bug that I couldn't shoot with full ammo... Did I mention that I opened the controls menu and it got stuck so I had to restart the level? * Annoying ways to open the doors in order to continue. So many doors. Doooooooooors. And doors. Such a waste of time and source of annoyance, instead of killing u feel more and more lost and confused. * And the cherry on top of it all: Bad, dry, tasteless humor. I wanted to like it (I like the graphics) but this game is much more tedious than fun.
Genre
Ein Top Down Shooter
Story
Gameplay
Fazit

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
Loads of fun. Good old skool type graphics, fluid control. For the price this is a must buy if you like killing loads of cultists but don't expect a cerebral experience, but do expect to have fun. Better than some so called AA titles I have played.
Action Commando, developed by BlueEagle Productions and published by Paul Schneider, is a compact yet energetic indie action game that embraces unapologetic excess, fast pacing, and old-school shooter sensibilities. It presents itself as a top-down action experience rooted in constant movement, aggressive combat, and a deliberately absurd sci-fi premise. Rather than aiming for realism or deep narrative complexity, the game focuses on delivering a straightforward power fantasy where momentum, reflexes, and weapon mastery take center stage. From the opening moments, it makes its intentions clear: this is a game about mowing through enemies with style and speed. The premise is intentionally overblown and playful. You step into the role of a time-travelling Spartan warrior tasked with stopping a bizarre cult bent on destruction across different eras. The story functions largely as flavor rather than a driving force, leaning into pulpy science fiction and dark humor rather than emotional depth. This tongue-in-cheek tone helps frame the violence and chaos in a way that feels self-aware, ensuring the game never takes itself too seriously. Dialogue and narrative elements exist mainly to contextualize the action, keeping the focus squarely on combat. Gameplay is built around fast, responsive controls and constant pressure. Action Commando encourages aggressive play by giving the player a versatile loadout that includes both ranged firearms and close-quarters melee options. Combat feels immediate and punchy, with enemies spawning in waves that demand quick reactions and smart positioning. Dashing, shooting, and striking flow together smoothly, allowing players to chain actions in a way that keeps encounters dynamic. Healing mechanics are designed to keep the pace moving, minimizing downtime and reinforcing the game’s arcade-like rhythm. Level design favors handcrafted encounters over procedural randomness. Stages are relatively linear, guiding players through tightly designed combat spaces filled with scripted enemy placements. This structure ensures consistent pacing and curated difficulty spikes, but it also means the experience can feel repetitive once patterns become familiar. Enemy variety is present, though limited, relying on escalating numbers and placement rather than radically different behaviors to maintain challenge. Despite this, the moment-to-moment action remains engaging thanks to the responsiveness of controls and the satisfying feedback of weapons. One interesting addition to the formula is the presence of optional companions. These allies accompany you into combat, adding extra firepower and creating more chaotic battle scenarios. While companions are not deeply developed in terms of personality or mechanics, they can influence how encounters play out by drawing enemy attention or amplifying damage output. Players who prefer a purer challenge can opt to tackle missions alone, where the lack of backup makes positioning and timing far more critical. Visually, Action Commando adopts a stylized top-down presentation that prioritizes clarity over detail. Environments and character models are simple but readable, ensuring that enemy movements and attack patterns remain easy to track even during intense firefights. Effects such as explosions, muzzle flashes, and enemy deaths are exaggerated enough to convey impact without cluttering the screen. The audio design complements this approach, with punchy sound effects and energetic music that reinforce the relentless pace of combat, even if the soundtrack itself is not especially varied. In terms of progression, the game keeps things relatively light. There are no deep RPG systems or elaborate upgrade trees, which aligns with its arcade-focused identity but may leave some players wanting more long-term depth. Achievements and Steam features such as cloud saves add a layer of polish, though the overall experience remains brief and tightly scoped. This makes Action Commando well suited for short, intense play sessions rather than extended marathons. Ultimately, Action Commando succeeds by understanding its own scale and goals. It does not attempt to reinvent the shooter genre or compete with larger, system-heavy titles. Instead, it delivers a focused burst of chaotic action built on solid mechanics, responsive controls, and a playful tone. While repetition and limited variety may prevent it from appealing to all players, those who enjoy fast-paced top-down shooters and appreciate indie passion projects will likely find it an entertaining and satisfying experience that delivers exactly what it promises: relentless action without unnecessary distractions. Rating: 7/10
Game isn't as bad as the name makes it sound. Like really, that name is about as boringly generic as you can get. The game isn't half bad though. Gameplay and review/thoughts in video format if that's your thing: https://youtu.be/7glx8QB5K-c
