quake/unreal tournement type of feeling with the movement and gun play, lots of unlockables, I'll indubitably be getting my money's worth.
game is great but the new soulwheel isnt good for pve
First and foremost-if you like stuff similar to Roboquest, Gunfire Reborn, etc. you'll like Abyssus as well. It fits within that genre and feels fresh with the mechanics it implements. It doesn't take any liberties to go especially above and beyond its genre, but that's honestly okay. The visuals and music are cool, and the power scaling throughout runs honestly feels super balanced. The gameplay is more repetitive than its competitors and there's a decent amount of bugs (most of which aren't gamebreaking but can certainly be annoying). Also, performance isn't great. Not an issue I have with other games-no matter how much I drop the settings I might just get a run with a ton of frame drops. I recommend if it's on sale and/or if you need to scratch the itch for a shooter roguelike. Hoping the bugs/performance get better because it's very polished otherwise.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

funness
incredible fps roguelite, having so much fun with the different secondary fires and just how busted your build can get and havent even hit brine yet, the gunplay is slick and fluid, the movement while limited feels amazing when you utilize it correctly, the bosses have a "hard at first but satisfying when mastered" feel to them with the different variants keeping it fresh, the modifiers add a lot of challenge which makes the game endlessly replayable. only issues i have with the game thus far is falling off the map can be pretty constant in some areas with a lot of aoe enemies, even at its lowest graphic settings the game can stutter a little on steam deck, other than that a truly amazing roguelite
Welp... In swift capitalist fashion, the consumer spoke with their reviews and I am gladly updating this review to be positive. The main issues I had addressed were all solved: -Soulwheel returned to prior version. -Taking random huge damage from certain enemies or bosses. (Apparently this was happening when your friends got hit. Secret Overkill mechanic?) -Some abilities not working. I am sure there will be some more kinks to find and improvements to be made, but this update was a huge course correct, and likely helped salvage a decent game. Now, as for the game itself? The reason we all liked it originally was because it provided a fast paced, room clearing roguelite dynamic which held high possibility for sometimes outrageous damage expression. It is also a very, very easy game to dive into with friends, no matter how casual, and manages to be entertaining while doing so. If you like Roguelites like Gunfire Reborn, there is a throughway here, except that in this game you can't swap your weapon on a dime, but instead play the full run with the weapons chosen. This is not a big problem though, because the variety you find between Blessings and Upgrades are enough to entertain various builds and playstyles. Very promising origin for a game with high potential. Well done developers and the team behind addressing and applying feedback
one of the best
TL;DR Fun Roguelite with enjoyable visuals and gameplay loop. The progression through the maps/rooms is fun and the enemies have mostly fine attack patterns, the guns and equipment you obtain also have a nice feel to them, additionally the blessings (damage types with their own gimmick and upgrade trees) you can find for your gear add an extra layer. Unfortunately however, not all blessings are as powerful due to lack of scaling which makes some feel lackluster in comparison to others. There's also an extra depth of Weapons having 2 additional primary and alt fire modes to unlock (as of 12.08.2026). The Soundtrack also is very pleasant to listen to both outside combat and just going from room to room, not to mention the world building via various lore notes and Camp unlocks you can obtain that expand on the Brine Hunters thoughts and events during their expeditions. It also runs surprisingly well (provided you turn off some of the heavy hitters) on an old rig for being a UE5 game, low to medium is doable while high is pushing it just a bit if steady 60 FPS is not a concern. A big negative of this game in my opinion however is its endgame loop via its "Deep Water Expeditions" which involve using a currency (Brine Canister) obtained by beating a run. For some reason however the developers decided to put scaling modifiers in but you don't get more than for bringing more than the 4 base line modifiers for the Deep Water Expeditions bumping your reward on win from 1 Brine Canister to a whopping 4 resulting in you making a loss on higher levels due to only getting rewarded with 4 when your cost might have been 30 from having put on 30 canisters worth of modifiers making it not worth to do outside of achievement hunting or playing on a readonly savefile as you won't be able to maintain the currency income to repeatedly enjoy a maxed out challenge run.
fun game.
