This is a mashup of a metroidvania game with a fighting game, and then decided to procedurally generate it. Unfortunately, it really leans into the worst aspects of all three rather than the best. The fighting is a pain, because all your attacks seem to be slower than the enemies, so they can just dodge or interrupt your attack before your attack lands. The variety of attacks and ability to attack in different directions would be good, except attacking or even just moving can lock you into a specific facing, while the nimble enemies jump around to your back constantly. The individual enemies are also far too durable for a dungeon crawl, as well. It feels like every enemy has about the same health as you do, but you don't easily recover hit points over the course of the dungeon. Each enemy might drop a health orb of like 50 health, while both you and the enemy have like 1000 health. For a fighting game, this would make sense since your hit points recover between matches, but here, you're basically having to marathon an entire fighting game campaign with your hit points carrying over between matches. While each of these two points individually can be annoying and greatly increase the difficulty, taken together it makes it just frustrating to try to play. Especially when it's 3 v 1 and all the enemies are both damage sponges and spam blocking. And then the procedural generation just squeezes out what's left. You can't learn routes, you can't plan out your run, you can't explore and find unlockables, there aren't any secret hollows to find easter eggs in... It's just a sterile, AI-generated path with no reasoning or logic behind it. Just a bunch of platforms with random loot urns leading to randomized fighting game encounters. And it's a real shame, too, because the game holds so much promise. Even in the less than an hour I played this game, I found some fascinating journal entries as monster drops that talk about some really interesting mythology. I really would love to explore the legends behind this game more, and might even try to look up the entire warlock's journal separately from the game. Further, the art style is really engaging, even if slightly hampered by the aging graphics not holding up as well at modern resolutions.
A cool and interesting idea executed quite well. I really love the look and feel of the game, with all the different character designs being a personal highlight. The story and world is very interesting and definitely makes up for some of the more lacking areas. Combat is pretty janky and tricky to master, but after a while it does start to get easier. Definitely more fun with friends, but still a pretty good time playing solo. If it looks like something you might like, why not give it a shot.
this game is hard as HELL and I LOVE it
Fun and challenging... The style is not something we get a lot of in gaming, having come out of Chile, and I am here for it. Bring on the strangeness. Don't expect to get far in multiplayer runs if you don't turn off Friendly Fire (however, you won't get achievements that way)
An interesting look into another world, though one that takes a bit to get used to. It experiments with a lot of mechanics, and each of the main characters does end up feeling different enough that I made sure to trek to the bottom with all of them. It's been a long time since I played, but hopefully the community has been able to properly bring the meta-progression to its final phase so that all the indicated content has been unlocked. (I think I'd be a little sad to get to the bottom after all this time and find it in the same spot it was when I last played.)

This game is definitely worth a playthrough! The art is handcrafted and BEAUTIFUL, and the localization allows the Chilean flavor of the game to come through in English without any awkwardness. The action is sharp and engaging. There's an option for two player co-op (and even couch co-op, which is sorely lacking these days!). The difficulty is real, but the combat and upgrade system does allow for building some seriously powerful combos. Especially if the game is on sale, pick it up!
Great blend of roguelite and fighting game, with simple story and captivating gaming process. So you have 3 main characters/classes with their own moveset, with special action they can consume a soul of a regular enemy or miniboss (or one of the main bosses, but the condition is - your level must be equal or higher of the target to not just deal damage but to consume it) - and now you can switch between 2 of them. Each enemy has its own moveset, there are multiple different critical effects (like freeze, poison, curse (which slows movement dramatically), fire, charm). I liked the nimbleness of controls (they are really responsive< just need to adapt), and while Im very bad at fighting games (my last one was SF4, even before SSF4 and USF4) and cancels overall where hard to me, but there are zoners, trappers (like burning mummy) that work quite well even for me. The visuals/design is very good too, mind you that those guys developed Zeno Clash dilogy. My only concern about the game - its bugs, there are a lot of them, from minors, where keyboard mapping in settings is listed wrong for consumable items, to more critical, like not saving the final boss room, meaning you should never quit the game if you want to fight him the other day just to find yourself at the very start of the run later. But nonetheless I would give this game a shot.
